Jesus is God (John 1:1) and as God, He has existed for ever. He has no beggining and no end. He existed before He decided to create the universe and the time. Back then, He did not used the name Jesus to refer to Himself.
However, He decided to incarnate as Jesus in certain point of the history of man, after a lot of people had born and died, civilizations started, developed, ruled the known earth, and later were declined and were conquered by others. Our actual calendar was tried to be set around His birth but was discovered later to have some minor errors. Jesus decided to come to Earth and be born from Mary around 6 BC and 4 BC.
That lady (Sherri?) seems to do not know this or was following a script to play a dumb character.

It was HILARIOUS! I was absolutely amazed that someone could be so stupid. Poor Whoopie. She tried to reign her in, but it just didn't work.
To quote the article:
"When Whoopi tried to cautiously navigate her through the timeline of basic world events, saying, "I think this might predate that," Sherri responded, "I don't think anything predated Christians." Joy's attempt to explain the Greek-Roman-Christian chronology was futile, as Sherri insisted, "Jesus came first before them." Sherri's argument was all the more powerful due to her convincing "use your finger to write on the table" trick, but she can't fight the facts. Perhaps if Barbara were on today she would have explained THAT WHOLE B.C. THING (you know, as in, Before Christ)."

She may have backed into, clumsily, Biblical truth. Jesus, as God, did predate all things. But, of course, there was history before He came in the flesh.
Col 1:16 For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible; whether thrones, or lordships, or rulers, or authorities, all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Col 1:17 And He is before all things, and all things have subsisted in Him.
Col 1:18 And He is the Head of the body, the assembly, who is the Beginning, the First-born out of the dead, that He be preeminent in all things;
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

Brother M i do agree with you i dont think she explained what she meant and there are so many people who do not believe in the bible and it's teaching. I am so glad that you make references to scriptures in the bible so that we can at least see where she is coming from.
Wisdom of the Spirit is greater than wisdom of the flesh.

I saw this and she was correct but did not explain it to anyone's satisfaction.
Colossians 1:15 shows Jesus was the firstborn of all creation. Everything else was make using him to do it.
Jesus himself said in John 8:58, "before Abraham was...I have been."
John 1:3 showed all things came into existence by means of him and as Proverbs 8:30 calls Jesus a "master worker" before God in his prehuman existence.

Ok...if there wasn't anything before jesus, then how did mary give birth to jesus, and how did she come along? how did her parents come along? it doesn't make sense. How do the books of the Old Testament fit in if there wasn't anything before jesus? Even the first book of the Old testament...Exodus doesn't even MENTION Jesus.
