I imagine that the majority of atheists have no problem agreeing to disagree on religious and spiritual matters as long as religious opinions are kept out of Government decisions, laws, and schools...

But is this feasible for people of faith? Is it possible (or even desirable) for a religious individual to keep their religious beliefs out of political sphere?

BECOME a sin if in your heart you believe it's a sin?

E.g: Eating a plum isn't a sin in this particular circumstance. But suppose you had a sane, non-crazy person who believed in his heart of hearts that eating plums WAS a sin.... does it then become a sin for him to eat a plum?

Before you haul out the "the Bible doesn't say that eating plums is a sin," let's think about this: the Bible also doesn't say that playing cards is a sin, but lotsa Christians say it is. The Bible also doesn't say it's a sin for 2 men to marry, but lots and LOTS of Christians say it is. The Bible doesn't say a lot of things are sins that some of us now call sins.

So, if it's not a sin, why not?

If so, why, and are there scriptural supports for this?

Many people believe that the theory of evolution is inaccurate and a lie against their religious beliefs.
However, can the evolution theory be proven wrong. If so, please explain.
Inane answers such as 'Because God said so' need not be posted. Detailed explanations only please.

God doesn't exist. The bible was a complete fabrication of acient swindlers in an attempt to make money. I have been trying to pursuade people around my town to believe this but I am having mild difficulties. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people who agree with me, but does anybody have any suggestions on how I might convert more people?

I'm an Atheist. I don't have anything at all against religious people. (in my opinion, religion is a good thing even if i don't believe it (i'm not one of those anti-religion atheists)) I was just curious as to why people would believe in something that they can't prove exists.

Before a diagnosis of brian death can be rendered, hypothermia must be ruled out. Since body temperature is regulated by the brain, this means that a functioning brain is one of the prerequisites for a diagnosis of "brain death."

At least some of the "brain dead" still regulate the body's electrolye balance, an activity mediated by the brain. The brainstems of some "brain dead" individuals register measureable responses to visual and auditory stimuli. And at least some "brain dead" individuals have activity in the cerebral cortex which can be detected via EEG's.

I have such a problem with Christians thinking that because they are Christian they are good people?

If you ask someone if the new neighbor down the street is a nice guy or not, they answer "Oh yes, Joe is a Christian" - Am I supposed to say "OHHHH! Of course then! he MUST be a good person!!!!

I hate how interchangable Christians try to make the words "Good" and "Christian"

Scenario. Let's say you go through your whole life continuing to disbelieve in God. The time comes when you die, and you immediately find yourself in the place of hell. You then realize that what the Christians were saying was true all along, and you also realize that it was your disbelief that sent you there. Also, you left behind children who were heavily influenced by your unbelief in God. They too are atheists and will not believe, and it is only a matter of time before they join you in the place of hell. Will you swallow your pride and admit that you were wrong and it is YOUR fault for every child of yours that goes to hell, or will you continue in your defiant attitude toward God?

So I am a Christian and I just asked a question about my son not believing in Santa Claus! The Question was direct but people had to examine that I was not married to his father. They dont know anything about me yet the condemn me for not being married and they criticize me for my lifestyle. Just because im an unmarried mother doesnt mean im not a Christian. Now I understand how atheists feel and thats really sad. People who are supposed to be filled with love being so hateful. She is saying im not a Christian. They dont even know what happened between me his father. WHY ARE CHRISTIANS SO FAST ON HANGING UP THE CROSS FOR EVERYONE! I know there are alot of Christians that are supportive but im speaking out about the wolves in sheeps clothing. God Bless all who support single mothers! I finally understand how mary and joesph felt!

An evil sinner dies after signing his donor card. Shouldn't the sacrificial sinner whose organs benefited another be compensated or excused? After all, lets say the heaven bound recipient was once an evil sinner too and only repented after a near brush with death, the heart or liver transplanted from the dead sinner allowing him to live long enough to find god.

Should I sign my Pascalian Donor Card, just in case?
