Can Frosty the Snowman's holly, jolly soul still get into heaven even though he was brought to life by magic. I do not know if Frosty has a religion, however, he seems like a good guy and has a moral and monogamous relationship with his wife.

Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam are distinctive because they are not associated with a specific ethnic group. Discuss the common features of these religions that enabled them to make this important departure from earlier religions.

Also, how some "christian" holidays didn't start out that way. Not limited to these things this is just an example but I would like to see someone that has truly studied it and done a lot of research.

correct me if im wrong, but after those words, thou shall not kill, does it specifically say HUMANS? Or just, thou shall not kill? Because that could imply not killing ANYTHING. Maybe vegans have the right idea but not eating meat or buying animal products, maybe they are the only ones following that actual commandment.

On the flip side, sure we need food, So thou shall not kill, except to feed yourself. How about all those people who kill for sport. Im pretty positive, that hunting is very very popular among the christian community, and less popular among the non christian community

So where does Thou Shall Not Kill end?

War? Thou shall not kill unless your defending yourself, or your country

Hmmm, looks like its open for more interpretation than some like to think.

Ok...what about embryonic insemination? (sp big time) She would still be a virgin (up until the birth since she didn't have sex, right? Perhaps I'm wrong in reasoning here, and if so, then you guys get free two points.

I know that there was no such thing during those times, but perhaps aliens, Atlanteans? Who knows? But perhaps that's the answer to the "mystery" of the virgin birth? Just wondering.

All serious answers welcomed, all sarcastic answers will be luaghed at (if funny) and all mean answers, will probably be laughed at as well.

so I have this book full of buddhist quotes and one of them is talking about letting each moment be rather then judging it for instance "I'm not good at this, this is boring, this is fun etc.." it's saying to just let it be a moment. My question is how can you enjoy each moment if you don't enjoy each moment well the good ones anyways, like if we just act like robots and accept each moment neither enjoying or not enjoying it then whats the point and how do ever look back on fond memories then. I love reading these things but it just seems sometimes you should enjoy certain moments rather then just letting them be you know what I mean, I know not all moments are enjoyable but the ones that are miserable help us to appreciate the good ones. Does this makes sense. I just am not sure exactly what is meant by not judging it, if you feel happy in a certain moment then you have already subconsiously judged it, have you not?

As an atheist, I don't believe in the bible etc, but...Mary somehow got a raw deal ( typical of putting down women ) Why did it take the vatican almost 2000 years. ( 1969 to be exact ) To finally admit she wasn't a prostitute. Also do you believe she was Jesus' closest apostle?

I believe God has put a magnet on every object on the earth....and the earth is one big magnet too. if you start giving these guys wiggle room on gravity, they'll start ramming evolution down our throats. lets change the battleground.

i know i have a magnetic personality. don't you? by the way, i'm so bright, my mom calls me sun.

To illustrate my opinion on this subject, I allude to an analogy spoken by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. " In other words a Hypocrite is someone who on the outside looks, talks, and acts like a Christian but on the inside they intentionally conceal their real motives and intentions. A Hypocrite is much like an actor in a play. They play the part and wear the mask so well it is difficult to tell who they really are. What are your thoughts?

I would prefer answers from Evangelicals, but anyone may answer. I just don't want answers that say something like, "They're the fundies on here." Or really anything that has to do with the people who are on here. This forum especially has little to do with the realities of the outside world. If I were to walk outside, and asked a hundred people, What is an Evangelical? what would the common answer be? If I went to 100 different Christian Churches and asked the pastors/leaders of those churches What is an Evangelical? what would they say?

It just blows me away to hear Christians call evolution a lie. I mean, you may as well say the earth revolving around the sun is a lie.
So here we go...empirical evidence of evolution, but first, let’s define evolution: Quite simply, evolution is the adaptation, behavioral and physical changes life undergoes to adapt to new environments.
Scientists have been studying wildlife around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor in Russia to see how life is coping. They found something amazing. Mice typically live about 4 years, but Chernobyl mice only live about 2 years because of the radiation poisoning.
Scientists found that the mice had evolved to adapt to the radiation by having more frequent and larger litter of pups before they die. In other words, these mice evolved to adapt to their new surroundings and environment. And this happened in only 20 years! Can you imagine what evolution can do with MILLIONS of years?

And please spare me bible quotes as answers, they prove and solve nothing.
