I am Christian. Evolution is not a religion - but if they made a religion out of bad 1930's pulp science fiction, I suppose someone could make a religion out of it and "The Golden Compass" too. I have met a man who had his name legally changed to James T. Kirk, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone did.

Where the heck did you hear that evolution is a religion?
and if it is, go on and get down with the Golden Compass.
What does that have to do with me?

In the book the church is afraid of the Golden Compass and the child meant to possess it--oh irony.

Any Christian that believes evolution is a religion is a fool. I pay no heed to them.

Why not? I'd be more inclined to join that religion than Christianity, anyway.
