Shouldn't the sole fact that there are multiple religions in existence, all claiming their mascot to be the one true God, be enough to make any rational person skeptical?

Wouldn't the first religion have to be the true one, if any?

Will FSM be widely worshipped in a 1000 years?

I often hear that we can't really assert that God does not exist because we don't know everything. I think we can't really say it because we can all be fooled by something supernatural, or even natural. But does saying that "God is imaginary" have good enough philosophical grounding?

I'm not a very religious person myself, but I have realised that my sexuality has become a bit too much for me to handle, let alone for my partner(s). No, I'm not addicted to sex, but I'm *this* close to becoming such.

So I made a resolution to refrain myself from ANYTHING and EVERYTHING sexual, but I'm already failing ~cries~ I just can't help thinking about doing somebody. Please pardon my language, but I'm really under pressure and can't help myself.

My question would be how do you cope with the rules of your religion regarding sexuality? Like, for example, most Christians and Muslims consider pre-marital sex a sin. How do you guys acomplish that? I so envy you on your strength of will.

It is my understanding that people need salvation because they can't be perfect, so Jesus is helping those people that have sinned, to yet go to heaven instead of hell (that is the answer I received when I asked why people need salvation). So, that means, asuming someone is completely perfect and never makes a sin in his entire life, he will go to heaven though he has no religion. Is that correct?

- I believe there is a true love out there for everyone.
- I believe there are things in life worth dying for.
- Fighting should only be used as a last resort.
- Killing should only be a last resort.
- War is the greatest sin of mankind.
- All people are equal no matter what.
- People should only say "I love you" when they mean it.

There's more, but that's pretty much my ideals.

MEXICO CITY - It sounds like a fast-food grudge match: Taco Bell is taking on the homeland of its namesake by reopening for the first time in 15 years in Mexico.

Defenders of Mexican culture see the chain's re-entry as a crowning insult to a society already overrun by U.S. chains from Starbucks and Subway to Kentucky Fried Chicken.

"It's like bringing ice to the Arctic," complained pop culture historian Carlos Monsivais.

I wanted to know if some people still engage in the physical atonement of their sins; such as self-whipping or nailing one self to a cross?

Do certain sects in Catholism accept this?

*I'm asking merely out of curiousity. What do you know of people doing this?

true free will can only exist if there is no fear of consequences for one's actions. it's not a quote. it's just my observation. free will should never be confused with having a choice. if i hold a gun to your head and tell you to trip the next person who walks by or else i will shoot you, most likely you'll trip the person to spare your own life. is it a choice you would have made had the gun not been put your head? so how can anyone claim we have free will if they believe we are going to hell if we don't choose to accept jesus or any other deity as our savior? we may have a choice, but we definitely don't have free will.

All I know is that I've read this somewhere either in this section or somewhere on the internet but it said that in one of the verses in the Bible, that Jesus said to one of those people on Earth, something like this, "Behold, there are many mansions in my Father's house and thou hasth prepared a place for you there."

So, let me get this straight, God knows everything about everybody, he can read thier minds, knows what they're thinking, knows what they like, and he has prepared a place for them in Heaven? Since when did God care about what people want and prepare a place for them? I thought all God wanted was for everyone who dies and goes to heaven to just get down on their knees and serve and worship Him for ever and ever nonstop whether they like it or not?

How many of you have chosen to have dogs, cats or some other critter, instead of children? No religious ties connected to this, Just wondering for myself. I have three sons, One 19, one 17, one 5 and we are in the process of finalizing the adoption of a little girl. As soon as one moves out, my wife gets a replacement.

Then why didn't god make our ability to think, reason, study, learn, discover, invent, up to todays standards, BACK THEN, why did he let us die of diseases before we became smart enough to find a cure, Couldn't he just make us smart back then?? or is he a big fan of Evolution?

Christians have "He died for you, can't you at least believe in him?" and "You only think you're happy, but real joy comes from knowing Jesus."

How could an atheist utilize this tactic?
