When did you decide to become heterosexual? Men, does your manhood rise when see a nice looking guy in a pair of tight wranglers? Does the thought of a naked man turn you on? If so, do you decide at that moment of erection that even though your body wants a piece of that guy, you don't want to be homosexual? Or were you born straight, and therefore the above does not apply to you?

Women, does the thought of ample bossom and shapely thighs, long legs, and silky smooth skin cause your undies to soak in the natural juices of your womanhood? Does looking at a pretty woman walking down the street make you crave the smell of fresh "flowers" to de-flower? If so, do you decide at that moment that you don't want to be homosexual, or does the above not apply to you?

The thought of a naked guy does not cause trouser tents under my desk, it actually causes the opposite, instantly, But that's me, not everyone. I don't have a choice. Do you?

I'm 6,000 miles away from my family and just recieved an email from my father. My younger brother has been diagnosed with breast cancer and stomach cancer. I am the only one in my family who has any belief in God, but they've asked me to pray. I will do so, I pray for so many different people, I guess this one has hit close to home and I don't want to be alone in my prayers.

I hear from those who have read about Catholic Priests committing sexual crimes with Nuns, fathering babies and burrying in basements of churches. How you Catholics can tolaerate these crimes by your own Priests and Nuns? How can you respect them and kiss their hands.

God already prophecized in the Bible that Satan would take over the world and bring havoc to humanity for seven years then sent to hell and back to bring havoc to earth yet again!
Finally Satan is defeated by God and sent to burn in hell for all eternity.

If God said His creations got free will then how come God has Satans future so clearly stated a long time before it actually happens?

If God has foreknowledge on what Satan would become even before He created Satan the sure as hell God has the future of every single human foretold in His head!

It is funny that God speaks of Himself as loving and forgiving and gives free will to His creations but has already judged Satan a long time ahead of time.

Satan in a thousand years might get bore and realize that he can't fight God. Satan should know the best since he has witnessed Gods power and even was defeated once!

If Satan is not a robot he should be asking for atonement anytime soon!

God however already shut the door!

I can't imagine his reformist message would sit very well with most modern Christian religions.

to everyone who says this, the next time you respond with this, stop and think about it. if the bible was written by men and they wanted to convince people that you that there is a god, what would be some things that would be written? do you suppose by any chance this would be one of things written even if there wasn't a god? let's say i wrote a book and i wanted to convince people that i'm god. would you believe that i'm god if i wrote, "only complete morons wouldn't believe i'm god"? do you get see where i'm going with this, or is it too much to grasp?

A while back, someone posted an unbelievable statement, that if Christianity never existed, civilization would have progressed much further than it has.

Putting aside the absurdity of that statement for a moment, my question is: IF that were true, then how come the NON Christian civilizations of Africa, Asia, etc.., did not surpass us technologically? I mean, who put the first man on the moon? Who invented the airplane, the microchip, and on and on and on. Who broght us representative government? It wasn't the Asians or the Africans. It was the Christian West.

Agree? Disagree? Why?

To all people of religion, and to all people who lack religion, why do we, as humans, feel the need to insult other people based on THEIR religion (or lack thereof)? And why is there this competition of "we are the most persecuted!" "No, we are!"

Rather than arguing about something you can't possibly prove anyway, why don't we, as people who represent our beliefs, stand up AGAINST persecution.

Stop whining!!!! Most of us are lucky that we live in a place where we can freely practice our religions. Oh, *tear* we all get made fun of for our beliefs. but for the most part we aren't violently attacked.

Oh, I'm sorry, then we couldn't push people away from the religion we think they should have. *sarcasm*

Side note- I am a proud Christian, willing to share the word with anyone but NOT willing to insult others for their beliefs or try to push God onto them (which usually results in them being pushed farther away from him, anyway).

okay, iv got a challenge for you:

if you can provide an argument for why any other god doesnt exist, that cant also be used to disprove the existance of your own god, then i will never ask stupid questions on the religion section again!

however, if you cant prove other gods to not exist (especially you christians) then you are also proving your own gods wrong, as he apparently said something about their being only one god, so go for it, step up to the challenge!

Jesus declares that the person judging will be judged (v. 1) because judging assumes a divine prerogative; final judgment belongs to God alone, and those who seek to judge others now will answer then for usurping God's position (see also 6:12-15).

Matthew 7:1, “Do not judge so that you will not be judged.”

then why do believers in god always judge us "agnostic/atheist" people? let god do the judging then, if you do not agree with our beliefs, then leave it to yourself and go on with your life, do not waste any precious time.
I understand your beliefs, and I respect that, but leave it up to god to decide if we will be going to "hell", if there even is such thing(is there truly 100% proof)?

i have had so many people in the past coming up to me saying that I will be going to hell.
How would you like it if I would come up to you and say "hey, i am anti-christ, come join me"

believe what YOU want to believe, dont try to suck others into it.
:)
thank you.

Seems to be some misinterpretation about the USCCB's recent "Faithful Citizenship" document -- including the idea that it would justify voting *for* a pro-abortion candidate.

Here is the document in its entirety (pdf file):
http://www.usccb.org/faithfulcitizenship/FCStatement.pdf

Just in case some people are getting their information from the news media instead of the source.

Quoting from page 15: "A Catholic cannot vote for a candidate who takes a position in favor of an intrinsic evil, such as abortion or racism, if the voter's intent is to support that position. In such cases a Catholic would be guilty of formal cooperation in grave evil."

Is there anything in this or elsewhere in the document that indicates voting for the "lesser of two evils" in the context of abortion is okay?

Often we have our children apologize without them really being sorry.I am not sure that this is a good teaching.I see could be Christians repenting of the same sin over and over. They are like the child that has been taught to apologize without any kind of sorrow for what they have done.

"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."
