Extinct is extinct. It's like, you can't be a little bit dead. How long something's been extinct is sometimes possible to measure, just like you can know how long someone's been dead. But it doesn't make that person "more dead" or the object "more extinct."

but a fossil doesn't have to even be a plant. their are fossils of almost everything. plants, bugs, animals, etc. i know most people agree that fossils are usually old but it doesn't neccissarily mean that their aren't anymore animals just like the one that died.

I'm not a christian though. lol
