to everyone who says this, the next time you respond with this, stop and think about it. if the bible was written by men and they wanted to convince people that you that there is a god, what would be some things that would be written? do you suppose by any chance this would be one of things written even if there wasn't a god? let's say i wrote a book and i wanted to convince people that i'm god. would you believe that i'm god if i wrote, "only complete morons wouldn't believe i'm god"? do you get see where i'm going with this, or is it too much to grasp?

where outside the bible does it mention all of these prophecies being fulfilled? i could just as easily write a book about events 2000 years ago about some entirely different person, divide the book into two parts. one part prophecy, one part fulfillment, and claim that all the prophecies were fulfilled. that's pretty much all the bible does. you won't find a single source outside of the bible and books which are pro-christian which support the idea that all or even most of the prophecies were fulfilled.

riki, yes, because there's too much inconsistency in the bible for that to be true. a perfect god would have done a much better job. a three year old would have done a much better job.

primoa, i think that's the point i made in my question. gee, people might question whether or not this is our words or god's words. how do we let them know this is not what we want? i got it!!! we'll say tell everyone this is the word of god and not our own. they'll believe it then. god wouldn't lie to them, right?

"...whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of Hell fire."

it is not admirable to be a fool. Proverbs a million:7 the phobia of the LORD is the commencing up of understanding; fools despise understanding and practise. Matthew 5:22 is speaking approximately having contempt for somebody. Quoting Psalm 14:a million is a warning, no longer a condemnation. Do you slot the definition of a fool via denying God's lifestyles? i'm asking the question, no longer calling you a fool. Romans a million:18-32

Point taken!
Ignorance gives one a large range of probabilities.
George Eliot (1819 - 1880)
Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago.
Bernard Berenson (1865 - 1959)
It is impossible to make people understand their ignorance; for it requires knowledge to perceive it and therefore he that can perceive it hath it not.
Jeremy Taylor (1613 - 1667)

poor thing the bible was written in a time when proof of god was rampant by mind staggering mirracles that would make a man of today weep. people of today are so jaded that they feel they need miracles inorder to beleive and totaly ignore the small miracles that god gives us everyday if half the nation cant see it then it isnt real thats your motto. so you write trash like that expect to hear from those you mock with your limited ability to see past your own desires.

Scripture can be trusted......because it came straight from the heart of God:
2 Peter 1:20-21 “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”

No, it's not too much to grasp, but if you were truly curious, then you might try reading the Bible instead of sitting in judgement on it.

And if they wanted to write a book so they could organize the masses and suck money out of their wallets you better hope they would believe it.
