Matthew 8

10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! 11 And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. 12 But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Zoroaster aka Zarathustra.

Wow! I got a thumb down for that. I wouldn't have thought anybody would even know who he was. Of course, it's partly a Nietzsche reference.

Of the legendary founders of the major world religions, I'd have to say Gautama Buddha. Moses might have some interesting things to tell us about old Egypt; the anonymous person(s) whose life story formed part of the basis for the character of "Jesus" in the Gospels might give us some interesting details about Rome at that historical crossroads; Muhammad was certainly a sublime Arabic poet, even if he was only a camel-driver by trade - but the Buddha is the only one who has left us a really workable system for attaining "enlightenment," and the Buddha is the only one who is not dogmatic.

Paul, because I want to know if he really wrote some of that submissive woman stuff or if a forger snuck that in. It seems so out of character for him.
