Jesus declares that the person judging will be judged (v. 1) because judging assumes a divine prerogative; final judgment belongs to God alone, and those who seek to judge others now will answer then for usurping God's position (see also 6:12-15).

Matthew 7:1, “Do not judge so that you will not be judged.”

then why do believers in god always judge us "agnostic/atheist" people? let god do the judging then, if you do not agree with our beliefs, then leave it to yourself and go on with your life, do not waste any precious time.
I understand your beliefs, and I respect that, but leave it up to god to decide if we will be going to "hell", if there even is such thing(is there truly 100% proof)?

i have had so many people in the past coming up to me saying that I will be going to hell.
How would you like it if I would come up to you and say "hey, i am anti-christ, come join me"

believe what YOU want to believe, dont try to suck others into it.
:)
thank you.

Let me see if I understand.

You are self-described as "agnostic/atheist" and then you quote a Scripture quoting someone you don't believe existed?

So you get it both ways?

You get to quote the creator (Jesus) of a standard (scripture) that you don't believe as an ""agnostic/atheist" but you then get to hold that standard you don't believe up to someone else as a standard THEY should believe -- all the while criticizing those people for failing (by your judgment) to meet the standard you don't believe.

Have I got that right?

No matter what you think or do, the creator of the scripture you don't believe loves you anyway.

Let's keep your quote in context...
It is not a commandment to believers not to judge.
It is a warning that they will be judged by the same standards that they use to judge others. They should be careful about judging, and it is better if they did not.

Everyday we all make judgments and decisions that affect our lives and the lives of others. You made a judgment just now about believers. If you really do understand our beliefs, then you know that it is not us who are judging and deciding who is going to hell. God has already done this and has made it clear how we may be saved. Christians try who warn unbelievers of their fate, knowing that many will not believe them or God's message. The law of God judges your sin, and God alone will judge you according to everything that you think, say and do... just as He will with us.

Is it the person you find offensive, or is it really the message? Maybe you should think about it.

I understand what you're saying and your point of view BUT here is the problem with that theory. We are instructed to preach(tell) the gospel to everyone, go into the hedges and highways and compel them to come. Judging and telling what the bible says about a certain sin or situation is two totally different things.

You are SO right it is not right to judge others and we "Believers / Christians" do it all the time!! But you know what; we are human too; we are not perfect and we make the mistake of judging others often. I wish we didnt but we are still learning too; so forgive us. We even judge each other!

There are alot of things that we Christians do wrong......thats why its GREAT to know that GOD forgives us and loves us even in our inperfection and mistakes! THANK YOU JESUS!! AND He loves you too! Im impressed that you know the Word. Keep reading and studying the Word of God and I know that you will surely prove us all wrong and make it into heaven despite out judgements! ;0)

I think some christians are geniunely worried about us nonbelievers and are really just trying to help. But there are definitely those who just can't stand to be disagreed with, and will harrass you about religion until their dying day. I don't know why they don't get that we just want to be left alone.

see here is the problem we were told that there are guidlines to follow and that if they are not followed then we damn ourselves to hell. and we are to tell others about these guidlines and what happens if these guidlines are not followed. when we do as we are supposed too we are acused of judging and there fore judged ourselves. some do judge but some are only sharing with others what we know to be true and that in itself has been descided by non beleivers that we are judging them........
