Does it have anything to do with freemasonry, any secret society?

Did those with Saul/Paul at his conversion hear a voice?

ACT 9:7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man

ACT 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me

The common rebuttal to this problem is; the modern version was translated poorly but the original writings are perfect and God inspired

The problem is that we don't have the original writings. What we have are copies - in most cases made many, many decades later. These copies also contradict each other mostly due to scribes either inadvertently or intentionally changing them during the tedious copying process

Knowing this, why would you live by what the modern version of the bible tells you? How could you know if your "instructions" were inspired by God or the opinion of an apparently heretical scribe?

A fundamentalist acquaintance once told me that Jesus not only was a great psychologist, but He invented the whole field of psychology. This brings me to the healing aspects of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or more commonly known as confession.

It is a given that after telling another person about his or her worries, problems and failures, one generally feels better. How much more is the healing when we are forgiven our sins!

Jesus appeared to the disciples in the Upper Room after His resurrection, telling them to not be afraid, and He gave them the power to forgive and retain sins. It is the second part, the retention of sins, that I find all-telling. Clearly, all christians are to forgive one another and be merciful. But, the retention of sins goes beyond a general instruction to all christians. The authority to retain sins was given exclusively to the Apostles. If they had the authority to retain sins, it logically follows they had the authority to forgive sins.

what do people that believe in god think about those who dont? ex) my aunt was talking to my young cousin and said that god works in mysterious ways. well what if a miracle of some sort happens to a non believer? who is doing that work or responsible for it? or is it just a coincidence?
AND
if god loves everyone, then will those who do not believe die pr be saved when its all over (or however the bible says we are going to die)

(just a kid thats curious)

Ok, so about 6 months ago, I bought this very unique keychain by the beach in California, it had many hookd beads, TONS! and on each bead, it had an eye painted on...the lady told me it was religious, I THINK a Jewish belief, that that keychain protected you from any evil eye that was trying to do you harm, they had bracelets too, but opted for the keychain. It was BEAUTIFUL! but I dropped my keys so many times that it finally broke, and now I can't go back to where I bought it and need to know if there is a place online I can go to or a certain gift shop. I kid you not, I refuse to buy ANY OTHER keychain as I truly want one of these unique keychains.

I was watching this TV show the other day and they were talking about a people living in Peru that worshiped the sun, another group near worshipped the moon and yet another worshipped thunder...they believe it was God speak to them. This was all 3000 years ago...I couldn't help to think about all the different religions there have been over the centuries, 100's, 1000's and maybe millions of them.

They all have one thing in common...they believe they were RIGHT about THEIR religious beliefs..but they contradicted each other...some even went to war over differences

Can we ALL agree...that 99.9999999999% of Religion is FOR SURE FALSE?

I mean NO doubt about it!

If you agree please JUST say YES
If you don't gree JUST say NO

thanks

I saw on the Yahoo! news today that after the Bishops' conference that they are telling fellow RC's how to vote according to the faith. They say that despite the war and immigration that abortion and the sanctity of life comes first.

Alright, we have REAL crisis going on with the war and immigration that are getting way out of hand and they want people to vote in favor of the unborn fetus? Come on, get your act together and stay out of people's business. By the way, with the overpopulation going on maybe we do need more abortions going on lately.

I was raised to believe in God, but the more I question his existence, the more I'm lead to believe that he's just not really "up there."

I would like some sound evidence or at least some literature to guide me toward my enlightenment. I know what the Bible says, but I don't know too much about what validity there is to Christianity's opposing viewpoints.

Thank you so much for your help!
