The first lesson is that you don't prove that anything doesn't exist - this applies equally to religion and any other topic. This means we don't disprove Unicorns, Santa or God, as it's totally impossible. We do, as all scientists and logicians, require proof of any claim.
Be objective, don't seek to prove one way or another but look at the facts to see what they lead to. Ask questions and get answers from many sources and examine the creditability of the sources.
When I started questioning, I thought to my self, what can I look for to show that god exists. I was sure that I would find indications of the flood, the exodus and Jesus as "There is more proof for Jesus than Julius Cesar". Several years of investigation turned up: nothing except that scholars would not be surprised if Jesus had existed. For the rest, no evidence whatsoever. I looked into evolution figuring it to be a sham, but was suprised to find out the overwhelming omount of evidence for it.

Actually, there's no validity to the bible. It's just a bunch of stories; no different than greek mythology, with the exception that the bible talks about christian mythology. As for why I don't believe in god? By default, something doesn't exist until it can be proven otherwise. I've never seen any evidence that god exists, and no, the bible doesn't count.

Just ask yourself these questions.
1. Can something be made from nothing?
2. If you refuse to look for something, can you find it?
"seek and you will find"
3. Have you every done something wrong, then felt bad about it?
People who are atheist refuse to believe in a higher power, but they can't explain the above questions.
I bet you can.
It doesn't matter what type of degree you have, every scientist knows you must have something to make anything. If you believe in the big bang theory then explain who made the matter that created it.
If you believe man came from monkeys, then tell me where are the monkeys that are having human babies now?
GOD is LOVE
GOD is FORGIVENESS
GOD is REPENTANCE
GOD is ALMIGHTY
Don't look for your answer in books, (except the BIBLE)televisions, or the Internet.
Look for your answer in prayer. GOD does exist.
Remember the BIBLE is

We don't know or at least I don't know, I was raised Christian but I chose to be Atheist and I'm fully hearted Atheist. I believe there is no God until he exists infront of me. No rationality to believe in a supernatural power that really speaking have not shown any power. Now everything that happens in nature is natural and can be explained scientifically, so when does God intervene? I have never sensed his intervention. No reason to believe in God.

hello sunshine, so you say that you were raised to believe in GOD! and now you question his existence? why i wonder? well, there is a higher power & that's for sure. so if you wonder if there is really a GOD then why don't you sincerely & i mean sincerely, ask GOD for a favor? or a test? whatever! do you believe that there is a life after death? or do you believe in angels? there will always be someone out there that doesn't believe in GOD. there will always be someone out there who doesn't believe in angels. there will always be someone out there that will make people think twice about everything. so don't be like those people out there who feed on people & try to make them think otherwise ok? those kind of people get a thrill out of making someone doubt thier faith. let me ask you something ok? have you ever lost anyone in your life that you loved very much? if no then i can't help you out. if yes then listen to this ok? i lost my mother about 5 yrs. ago. then i just lost a younger brother this past june from cancer & then in august i lost an aunt that i was very close to. i believe in God because i know that my mom & my brother are around me all of the time even my aunt. i just believe this. it's called having faith. i can tell when they r around me every time. it's nothing that can be explained or proof of. it just is. so yes i do believe that God is real. you should ask a person of another kind of religeon other than the one you were brought up as if there really is a God? see what that person has to say. then ask an athiest the same question. then make up your own mind. don't let someone make up your mind for you. ok? good luck, nobrethequeen

well you see the christian, jewish, and muslim religions were created to teach people to be better people not to simply "believe in the divinity of 'god'" which it has turned into
and in all reality 'god' comes down to 'faith' so just really search yourself and see if the idea of 'god' really makes sense because i was raised cathollic and it didn't work for me i denounced my religion shortly after conformation
not to mention the bible is an invalid source due to the changes to it by King Henry VIII and the fact that it can be interpreted in about a million ways furthermore it wasn't even 'written' until 50 ears after Jesus died
research the subject and you will see how narrow-minded, corrupted, one sided, hypocritical, and what little sense religion is

I can't claim to know that there is no god at all. All the contradictions and bs in the bible proves to me that there is no Christian god. I haven't studied enough of the other religions to find all the bs, but I feel pretty confident that when I do, I will find much of the same.

It really is just common sense. I can't imagine how a person can believe in such things, so its hard to understand. To me it is no different than believing Santa or Zeus is real.
I was born an atheist and have never had any religious thoughts or beliefs.

In addition to "The God Delusion" I also recommend the "Masks of God". "Why I'm not a Christian" might be helpful since that is the specific religion you are questioning. Good luck. It's surprisingly frightening to let go of a belief. Even one that is ridiculous.

Atheists don't know God is not real.
We simply have no belief at all in a deity. We couldn't prove the nonexistence of anything - be it unicorns, God, or the power of cheese.
What you choose to believe is up to you. Reason it out, and if you choose to follow a religion... choose wisely.
