when that god only blesses America? We hear americans say all the time that, "God bless america and noone else"!
Is american christian evangelism a tool to create "useful christian idiots" in nations to serve American interests? Is all proselytizing for those purposes?

Why do people pray to the Virgin Mary and the other Patron Saints?

Why if God is the only one who can grant forgivness, does a man tell you to say 3 Hail Mary's and you will be forgiven your sins?

Experiments have been conducted and have shown that ill people for whom nobody prayed experienced better rates of recovery than did ill people whom received prayers.

If God isn't even going to bother responding to prayers to heal sick people, what exactly does he respond to???

This keeps coming up when I dialouge with Christians, they think that it says in the Torah that "if you break one Law, you break them all and you are damned to hell." Did they get this from another misquote from Paul(Galations 3:10) of Deuteronomy 27:26?? If so, Christians, please read the verse and understand the context.

God knows the future... he is all knowing... if he created the world in the way he saw fit, then everything that happens was meant to happen and every one of his creations are created with their own innate behavior - their whole lives and the decisions they make in them would then be predetermined by god -- saying god is powerless to contend with our free will to "turn away from him" and go to hell... makes no sense so either: God is Cruel... God is not All powerful... or God does not exist.

I would like to hear a counter argument... theologists... fingers poised on your keyboards: GO!

INFANT BAPTISM. Ready kids?

Fundamentalists often criticize the Catholic Church’s practice of baptizing infants. According to them, baptism is for adults and older children, because it is for only after one has undergone a "born again" experience—that is, after one has "accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior."

But, in Luke’s Gospel, we read: "Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God’" (Luke 18:15–16).

The present Catholic attitude accords perfectly with early Christian practices. Origen, for instance, wrote in the third century that "according to the usage of the Church, baptism is given even to infants" (Holilies on Leviticus, 8:3:11 [A.D. 244]).

I would like some positive answers?

Back story:
Our church has a past of kicking out preachers if they so much as sneeze without permission, and now we have this guy in there that is as dull as a rock, but the deacon who basically runs the place, (he's a rich guy and others are afraid to piss him off) put him there without anyone elses permission and now, our members are dropping off. One deacon, whose been a member for over 50 years quit this past Sunday, said he was too old to argue with them.....it's a sad situation.

And no, I don't agree with what they are doing, but I'm hoping that they will straighten up eventually.

ANYWHO! I do the bulletins for the church, and this week, I really want to stick it to the people who have been doing all the backstabbing, power plays, etc. Nothing mean spirited, but something that will brig out the guilt and hopefully let them know it's them thats causing the problems....

and was it a coincidence?

I asked politely. And it was deleted and a violation notice sent.

Why is this?

I read questions/answers here all the time from religionists stating that atheism is 'evil', and I wanted to know what the definitions of atheism *were* that people were using when calling it 'evil'.

Does anyone understand why that would be considered a 'violation?'

I used to pray. I know about sin.
Then my eyes were opened.
Think about this logically.
Praying to God. His answers to your prayers are
Yes
No
and Wait.
So no matter what happens, God did it.
God knows what is best
No I ask you
Pray to the wall.
Ask for the same thing
Keep in mind that the wall knows whats best for you
It may answer with a Yes a No or a Wait.
YOU WILL GET THE SAME RESULTS
And answers to a prayer are coincidence
I have had prayers answered, back when i was still Christian,
And now that i do not pray, the results are EXACTLY the same.

So why continue to pray if the results are the same?

I am a happily married Christian man who loves his wife dearly.
But like most men (not all), I get distracted by scantilly-clad women in public. The way some girls dress tells me that they desire the attention.......and it also reflects on the way they were raised by their parents.

I'm not generalizing all women here.......most of the women my wife & I know are from our church and dress very modestly & appropriately.

I guess my question is:
Why do this? Don't they realize that if they're flaunting it......they're asking for trouble?

I believe this parallels a spiritual battle......which is why I've asked it here.

Thanks,

Primo

Even though the mormons say Jesus is an angel and JW's say there are two GODs and the caths are into Idolatry.
I know the TRUTH, Jesus is GOD in the flesh here to redeem HIS creation. There is no purgatory. I'm not putting anyone down for their beliefs just want to know what all of you think. Thanks

After all, Christian "Heaven" is CELIBATE.
Why do most people want to look good, and preserve
their youth? What do they fear most of all from the aging
process? What IS the chief motivator for today's anti-aging
scientific research?
It is the threat that aging poses to SEXUAL VIABILITY.
Whether it is impotence, lost libido, or simply the ugliness
and undesirability that age brings, we DON'T accept it,
pious platitudes and "wisdom" to the contrary.
Could it be, there's a lot of hard, physical work to do in
"Heaven" that requires youth and vigor? (Add that to the
no-sex business and I've just decribed HELL though, haven't
I..?)
Indeed, why would Christians look forward to "never growing old" in "Heaven"? The place would seem more fitted to a population of pruny (albeit healthy and "spry") 98-year-olds, doing 98-year-old things. Indeed, physical beauty in the humans in "Heaven" would be a distraction from staring slack-jawed at "God", right?
-Which IS what "Heaven" is all about - right..?

Isn't this another sign of United States weakness?
Are we falling apart?
We are falling apart Spiritually as a Nation, and now we are reaping the havoc and Chaos of a place that doesn't have GOD Blessing America.
God Bless America
Land that I love, stand beside her and guide her- I guess those words are now a thing of the past?
Thoughts?
