The "clean water" is mentioned in the OT Ezekiel 36:25 ... But this is an EXTERNAL way to get physically clean. Doesn't the cleansing in the NT (which is now) have to take place within ourselves, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, in baptism? Why do we need a "reminder" of this baptism with a ritual such as hand-dipping-in-"holy"-water when we can get a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit when we repent and pray?

Demons and the devil tremble at the NAME of JESUS (James 2:19) ~ the power is in the NAME not "holy" water.

It's stolen, without credit, from the Jews - The Temple of Jerusalem - where hands were washed prior to entering the Holy of Holies.

Most (51%) of European Catholicism is stolen from Judaism (without credit or mention).

In Japan/other areas, there are Zen Gardens where persons (warriors) lay down their swords/weapons prior to entering the Garden and then, when exiting, put them back on.

That's my understanding.

holy water is mentioned in the scriptures. It is called clean water. I think it says I will sprinkle clean water on you and you shall be clean indeed.
St Theresa of Avila said that the devil hates holy water and cannot stand to be n ear a person who uses it often. there are numerous blessings that go into the holy water. those blessing attach to the thing it is prayed over . Just like satonist, pray over drugs terrible things to happen to them that will use it, those curses attach to the drugs, I've heard that there are many in mental institutions today because of this. I heard Father Corapi tell of his former life back in the 70's when he was there when satanists prayed curses over vats of drugs, and also in recording studios over certain music. you see , the devil will always invert the good that comes from God, a priest may bless, the devil and he co-horts will curse. You better believe it. (Shoot, wheres my holy water!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????)

Hello,

Supposedly it keeps you a little closer to God's blessing much like those anointed oils and blessed prayer cloths the non - Catholic TV evangelists mail out.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

PS - Holy water wards off vampires and demons as well.

<> i don't probably look after it, often because of the fact i think like it takes faraway from praying the Our Father. rather of focusing on what i'm asserting, i'm distracted for the 1st few lines as i'm attempting to "hook up" with the human beings on my left and real. fortuitously, the parish I attend Mass at does not hassle with having anybody carry palms during the Our Father. <> The Mass is, between different issues, an workout in objective industry participation. we at the instant are not mere spectators at Mass, we are energetic contributors in it. consequently, i don't frown on each and every component of Mass that promotes the energetic involvment of all of us interior the congregation. <> I understand what they try to do, and it rather is a superb gesture. It promotes the team spirit and universality of the congregation as they pray the Our Father. yet lower back, i think it somewhat is too distracting to wish and be hooking up on the comparable time. consistent with threat if the Mass paused, for even 15 seconds, allowing anybody to hold close palms formerly praying, i might settle for it. <> not each and every thing non-Catholic Christianity does is inevitably undesirable or perhaps incorrect. i think something like it rather is a controversy of private opinion. If there are any similarities between something Catholicism does and something non-Catholic Christianity does, it somewhat is them copying Catholicism, not any incorrect way around, because of the fact Catholicism substitute into here first.
