I asked politely. And it was deleted and a violation notice sent.
Why is this?
I read questions/answers here all the time from religionists stating that atheism is 'evil', and I wanted to know what the definitions of atheism *were* that people were using when calling it 'evil'.
Does anyone understand why that would be considered a 'violation?'

Fireball, you are saying it is 'off-topic' to ask questions about what Christians or Muslims believe?
Then what is 'on topic'?
Should I have asked about the best injection kit to buy for my car? Or how to care for a moth orchid?
Please expand on your comment...I would like to understand you.

Tim M: I didn;t ask if they thoght 'atheists' were evil, but if they thought 'atheism' was evil. Don;t you folks differentiate between 'sin' and 'sinner'? etc?

The people who "vote" questions to be deleted are people who cannot handle any idea in opposition of their belief system. You will find this on both sides of the fence. They cannot come up with legitimate arguments or solutions so they do the next best thing in their mind. They get your "offensive" question voted down. I think it is ludicrous. Such people should not even be part of a forum based on debate and question.
I am a chrisitian and I don't think atheists are evil, just lost. Evil is of Satan and his demons.
Atheists should be allowed to have their say just as much as christians without questions being deleted because they are "offensive."
Attacking questions on the other hand, meant to demean or belittle have no place here.
Edit: Sin is an act. Sinner is a person peforming that sinful act. In my opinion if you were to look at God's laws we are all sinners. No one on this planet is perfect. It is part of our human nature. I don't think atheism is evil at all. I think atheism is a search for the truth which they will ultimately find, for good or bad.

I am a Muslim and although I don't agree with atheists, I don't think that atheism is evil, An atheist for me can be better than another person who's doing blind belief
Most of the people who believe in God are doing blind belief - he is a Christian, because his father is a Christian; he is a Hindu, because his father is a Hindu; the majority of the people in the world are blindly following the religion of their fathers. An atheist, on the other hand, even though he may belong to a religious family, uses his intellect to deny the existence of God; what ever concept or qualities of God he may have learnt in his religion may not seem to be logical to him.
An atheist aswell agrees with the first part of the Shahada i.e. the Islamic Creed, ‘La ilaaha’ - meaning ‘there is no God’. So half my job is already done; now the only part left is ‘il lallah’ i.e. ‘BUT ALLAH’ which I shall do Insha Allah. With others (who are not atheists) I have to first remove from their minds the wrong concept of God they may have and then put the correct concept of one true God.

It is because the Christian mafia complained enough and YA is run and controlled or is in fear of theists. It is amazing that they are the ones who follow some guy who said to turn the other cheek, and to loves others. However, there are so many Christians and Muslims and Jews, who are the first to lash out and are so full of hate towards anyone who is not like them. That is unfortunate that there was a violation notice, as I think that it is a good question. It really is not a violation, but the theist mafia hates you because you do not believe what they do, so they must destroy. Loving bunch they are. The world would be a better place without religion.

I don't see any reason why it would be a violation or why it would be deleted.
*scratching head*
So to answer your question in part, Muslims in general don't consider atheism as evil, more like confused or misguided, and many even see it as someone who just hasn't found any benefit in any organized religion and can't declare something that they don't believe within their hearts. An atheist is FAAARRR better than a hypocrite any day.

Dear Sir, I am a Muslim, so I answer you in a Muslim point of view. The meaning of Islam is total submission to the will of God. And Muslims are people who submit to the will of God. Atheism is considered as non believers, of course nonbelievers in all religion will not enter paradise. They are considered not good as they will do all the sins which GOD didnt permit becos they dont believe in him. I hope this answer will satisfy you. Good Luck, who knows God will guide you into believing in Him one day.

why, because some atheist crybaby got mad and reported it.
and yes i believe atheism to be evil, using st. thomas aquinas's definition, that anything that goes against the potemtial and desire of God, is evil. therefor a genious atheist is evil in the fact he is not useing his knowlage for good but to preech against god

No I don't...I don't know why the woman that asked for prayer for a baby dying of cancer got pulled either. There are questions that deserve to go.. that are never pulled..Is it a popularity contest?
As to your question..No I don't think it is evil..just a choice.

There are really some immature, thin-skinned people on this site who should concentrate more on keeping their diapers clean than engaging in this forum. The answer to your question is, some people do and some people don't.
