After all, Christian "Heaven" is CELIBATE.
Why do most people want to look good, and preserve
their youth? What do they fear most of all from the aging
process? What IS the chief motivator for today's anti-aging
scientific research?
It is the threat that aging poses to SEXUAL VIABILITY.
Whether it is impotence, lost libido, or simply the ugliness
and undesirability that age brings, we DON'T accept it,
pious platitudes and "wisdom" to the contrary.
Could it be, there's a lot of hard, physical work to do in
"Heaven" that requires youth and vigor? (Add that to the
no-sex business and I've just decribed HELL though, haven't
I..?)
Indeed, why would Christians look forward to "never growing old" in "Heaven"? The place would seem more fitted to a population of pruny (albeit healthy and "spry") 98-year-olds, doing 98-year-old things. Indeed, physical beauty in the humans in "Heaven" would be a distraction from staring slack-jawed at "God", right?
-Which IS what "Heaven" is all about - right..?

To "Malik L":
Ask any churchman, and that's what he'll
tell you. (And isn't "Heaven" an idea invented
by churchmen, after all?)

To "Mim":
We'll be WISE in "Heaven", you say?
But there's no conflict or problems in
"Heaven", right? What "situations" to employ
use your wisdom in? What's the point of
wisdom in "Heaven", where you'll have no USE for it? (I suppose all the ex-cops and soldiers will carry unloaded guns in "Heaven"?)
Indeed, "Heaven" by rights ought to be full of
FOOLS. (98-year-old fools, anyone?)

How do you know it is CELIBATE?

I don't know about the rest of the Christians here, but eternal youth isn't even on my mind when I think of Heaven. Why would I care about sex in Heaven when my Lord is there?

It says in the Bible that we'll receive new bodies, but do you really think that we Christians are so focused on our appearances and youth that we would view that as the main attraction?

Not only that, but I'm also wondering why you would think that there's a lot of physical work to do in Heaven. I don't know if there is, but if there is, I'd gladly do it - hey, it's no different from Earth, and my Lord is there. Not only that, I'd have a new body.

Are you a prophet? How do you claim to know what heaven is about? I have never been there. The bible makes no statements about sex, age, or beauty in regards to abiding in heaven. What it does say is there will be no more pain, no more tears, and no more suffering. That is a far cry better than what this world has to offer. If you think that life is all about sex, your priorities are awry even for a non christian.

And to answer your last question. No that is not what heaven is about.

Slobodan,
I do not concern myself with "eternal matters" such as aging and our appearance to others. I am more concerned about staying as faithful as possible so that I will qualify to be there among the saved. I do however, hope to see a number of those who have died in times past and being able to see a number of our ancient forefathers. I really hope to meet and speak with Moses, Abraham, Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and a number of others that will be there. Have a wonderful day and a grand weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

Man's version of heaven probably differs from God's. Those worried about how they will look in heaven might be a little surprised when they don't get there!

Were do you get your information? I have never heard that heaven was celibate or that people even have bodies there. It is nothing like life here on earth. Why would it be? Perhaps there is something far more satisfying than carnal pleasures.

Saved Christians will be given new, perfect 33 year old bodies.

I'm not so concerned about beauty, dear one, but regaining my youthful energy again will be awesome! I'm 65 and have arthritis and look forward to my glorified body!

God bless!

Heaven is like a pizza parlor in New Jersey, on the surface everything looks great, but you know Tony Saprano stores the bodies in the walk in freezer.

Where do you get your ideas about Heaven anyways. Do you believe?

Gee...I was unaware we looked forward to those superficial things.
I never did think about it. It won't matter. Getting IN is all that matters, right?
