Back story:
Our church has a past of kicking out preachers if they so much as sneeze without permission, and now we have this guy in there that is as dull as a rock, but the deacon who basically runs the place, (he's a rich guy and others are afraid to piss him off) put him there without anyone elses permission and now, our members are dropping off. One deacon, whose been a member for over 50 years quit this past Sunday, said he was too old to argue with them.....it's a sad situation.

And no, I don't agree with what they are doing, but I'm hoping that they will straighten up eventually.

ANYWHO! I do the bulletins for the church, and this week, I really want to stick it to the people who have been doing all the backstabbing, power plays, etc. Nothing mean spirited, but something that will brig out the guilt and hopefully let them know it's them thats causing the problems....

Maybe a few verses on Unity and church togetherness, supporting one another, all members being equal.........know what I mean?

My main theme, i want it to be about:

Would God be proud of you if he were sitting right beside you now and you didn't know it. Would He be proud?

Am I being confusing? If so, sorry.

Sorry, not Corrinda, LOL.

I agreed to do the bulletin a few months ago, before i actually realized what was going on.

When i said 'stick it to them', I meant it as 'make them think'. Where is our church going wrong, where are we lacking in our spiritual togetherness.

We had a strong message in our womens group this past Monday night it was about that - where are we lacking...are we good role models for those watching us....would God be proud if he were watching us now...

This is what I want to incorporate into a brief message in our bulletin, but I'm not the best with words.

And as far as getting me replaced, that would be great, because every time I make my mind up to hand it back over, they sucker me back in......

Correnda?

Sorry, this just sounds so much like what we left, and she is the person that took over the bullitin duties from me when I left.

Anyway, been there, donethat. Only God can fix the mess you are in.

Unless you are very strong in your own following of Jesus Christ, chances are you are already being corupted.

I was very strong and grounded in Christ. I came from an awesome doctrinal church when I first visited this particular one.
Now, I should state that I only left my first church because of a job move five hours away. A new church home was a needed thing.

ANyway, by the time I realiized just how bad it was a this new church, I was already corrupted. By corrupted, I mean that I was looking for ways to stick it to them, just as you put it, in the bulltin. Looking for someway toopen their eyes, so that they would see what I saw, and change their ways to my way of thinking.

Once, I saw my own corruption, I left.

Now, we are at a different church, but a church that is very much like my old church that is five hours away now. I am at peace and feel no need to send "messages" to the leadership.

Fact is, when we enter a church, aside from the pastor, we should not be able to determine who the leadership is.
They should all be serving one another.

You're being perfectly clear, but I think you're a bit misguided. It's not your job to...err..."stick it to the people," even if they haven't been acting with the love of Christ towards the body of Christ.

Christ will deal with this, but your job is to encourage the body and preserve the peace. Here's some verses I know you've heard before:

...I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called—one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

I think you should [ephesians 5:11-13]

but ( i'm saying this in the spirit of meekness with hope of protecting the over-all church)...you should probably not air out your church's dirty laundry in this venue....Us Christians have to deal with a lot and answer for enough stuff already...These sarcastic people who find it fulfilling to come to the religion section and bash christians with thier same old cliche arguments over and over again; don't need more feul....

They know what they are doing and I don't think an article in your bulletin will do anything but get you replaced.

Here is a good one. "Dont let your worries kill you, let the church help."
