If not evolution, do you believe He used science as a means to create us? After all we are biological in nature. The universe is a display of scientific genius. Science is all around us. We cannot ignore it. God didn't.

I know that many of us 'went to church' every Sunday with our parents, at their insistence , sometimes..... at some point those of us that don't 'do' organized religion any more had a reason that sent us out the door, never to return..... what did it for you?...
I was a good Methodist until I was in high school.... then the questioning set in and I couldn't get answers, just repetative gibberish from a cranky old pastor.... THEN... we 'became' UNITED METHODISTs and the whole thing turned into a business.....talk about being disillusioned!!.... but I tried to stay close to some kind of church for a good while.... and then, I met my now hubby.... fell in love and wanted to marry him... but HIS church wouldn't marry us, as both of us were divorced....so, according to that, we're both lost.... why bother?

I do not see another location that would have as many individuals that have done their home work on evolution. What I want is a cognitive discussion on the evolution of Higher Cognitive states in humans. In addition to brain evolution I want to also include the physiological changes required for the acquisition of language.

My only question at this time is; who is willing to have this discussion with me?

Many ex - Christians say that they do not believe in God because they find the bible illogical and the Trinity contradictory. But instead of exploring other religions, many give up altogether? Why let one sour grape turn you off the rest?

I have seen questions about the awful fires in America tonight.
Christians asking if they are because of sin or the start of the end of the world or is it because god is punishing people in that part of America because of there greed.
This got me thinking are these people really Christian or people pretending to be Christian ?
After all should not real Christians be asking what can we do to help or at the very least praying for those affected ?

speaking of the same period of time? What does the "about half an hour of silence" and the 2300 days of the transgression of desolation refer to?

**All Scriptures are from the King James Version.

I read this in Luke 15:7, "I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance."

From this verse, it appears that Heaven (God's throne room) would usually be filled with songs of praise and worship of the Lord every time a sinner was saved. Does this mean that no one is being saved during the about half an hour of silence?

In 1 Corinthians 10:8 we read, "Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand."

Every time the number "23" appears in the Bible, it is associated with judgment (wrath-plagues, famine, pestilence..)

The Stockholm Syndrome is a phenomenon exhibitted by hostages who are affectionate and loving towards their captors. It can be explained by how the human brain deals with a great stress. Once a person realizes that there's no escape from the constant fear, it can morph itself into "love".

Similarly, Christians claim that they are motivated by their love towards God, even though the Bible doesn't portray God as very tender, but rather vengeful and cruel. In a sense, Christianity is the culimination of the Stockholm Syndrome, because somehow they managed to convince themselves that their fear of God is really a form of true love.

This is an OUTRAGE !!!!!!! Fairness doctrine, or 'silence the lambs'???
A senior advisor to Nancy Pelosi has said this, "Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans, and we have had to find a way to limit it". This is politics par excellance, folks, and it is designed to silence our freedoms of speech !! What are we going to do about this? Sit by and let it happen? These people are about to destroy this nation......what do you intend to do about this abomination? Do not take this lightly, folks, our very freedoms are being eroded.....it is past time to do what we need to do. "Work for the night is coming when man can work no more". Pray as if our lives depended on God.......weep before God for our nation. May He have mercy on us once again.

the enemy?

The parable states: "Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." (Matthew 13:24-30).

Hebrews

6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Is this referring to foot washings? Or what kind of washings? This has always confused me.

If it is referring to foot washings --- then why aren't we doing more of that in the church? I know that some churches practice it regularly, but they seem to be few and far between.
