This is an OUTRAGE !!!!!!! Fairness doctrine, or 'silence the lambs'???
A senior advisor to Nancy Pelosi has said this, "Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans, and we have had to find a way to limit it". This is politics par excellance, folks, and it is designed to silence our freedoms of speech !! What are we going to do about this? Sit by and let it happen? These people are about to destroy this nation......what do you intend to do about this abomination? Do not take this lightly, folks, our very freedoms are being eroded.....it is past time to do what we need to do. "Work for the night is coming when man can work no more". Pray as if our lives depended on God.......weep before God for our nation. May He have mercy on us once again.

They aren't trying to outlaw conservative talk radio as much as they are trying to require equal airtime by law. Conservative talk radio actually has an audience of both conservatives and liberals because they are free to debate without being shouted down, out down, or talked down to. AirAmerica and other liberal talk radioshows have gone bankrupt because they are more like hate shows than talk shows. Liberals can't stand that their voice is being silenced, not by the government, but by the will of the people (if the pepole don't listen, the advertisers won't buy airtime, the radioshow goes belly up), so they are trying to force us to allow them equal airtime. Can you imagine if the shoe were reversed? I would love to see the press if Bush were requiring that conservative media receives the same amount of print in newspapers as the liberal media does!

And how is she trying to limit it?

Is she trying to knock radio stations off the air?

Is she trying to stop the lies that a lot of these broadcasters spout?

Is she trying to counter the spin and put out an alternative message?


Where does it say that she is trying to limit freedom of speech? Personally the right for politicians to libel each other and lie in political campaigns is taking the 'freedom of speech' too far. You are free to say what you want, but if you tell lies then there should be consequences. Not just for the right or the left but for everyone. Lying or corrupt left wing politicians disgust me just as much as lying or corrupt right wing ones do.


Meanwhile you have a president who does not consider holding someone underwater until the point where they almost drown torture. Worry about the rights that you have given up to the neo-cons already.

I wish the news media would broadcast these things. So many people do not know what is happening today.
I have already called and emailed my rep and senator.
I am praying for this to be opposed.
It just seems strange that our soldiers are
overseas fighting so that we will not be attacked again and we are being attacked

They are dividing America and that is how

The problem is that we own the air waves (Americans). Big business is buying up all of the radio stations (the licence anyhow) and promoting big business' agenda (Rupert Murdoch)

Most Libs are against the fairness doctrine as well. They would have to put the right wingers on their shows as well. No one wants you to hear opposing opinions.

I listen to both extremes and pick out the truths for myself. If you believe every thing your favorite host says you are way off center.

The biggest thing that is wrong with this country and the world for that matter, is fear. It is crippling the world. Religion is one of the biggest proponents to that fear. It is a way to control their believers. If we understood each other and really believed in what God tells us is the way to him/her, we would have the first priority be helping others.
The problem with the radio and TV (Conservative, Religious, Liberal) is that they use fear to divide the country instead of using education and conversation to bring the country together.

You're speaking of programs such as Savage Nation? I don't remember the other ones, I have to switch to AM to get them and It doesn't come in clear. I used to get them all when I had XM radio and that is all I listened to.
Back to the point. I don't know what else we can do other than pray for our nation and vote for an elephant LOL I don't know if we are ALLOWED to speak of parties anymore.

They have the right to try and reduce the influence of conservative radio, or counter it with their own - that doesn't constitute a limitation on freedom of speech.
