Quotes. Why is that? That seems intolerent to me.
I asked for no Bible quotes because I do not follow the bible, and therefore they wouldnt help me.
I wanted an answer from the individual's own persepctive, not the bibles
So why cant people answer without the Bible?
Should I stop asking questions because people cant answer without using the Bible
Are people THAT Closeminded?

Some say "spiritual" life begins at conception. However, twins dispute this. Shortly after fertilization, the embryo splits to create more than one life. Now each twin is going to have their own soul. Do you believe the soul splits equally to each individual? Or do you believe we do not receive our soul at conception?

I believe God created the universe via the Big Bang, and I believe He created life via evolution. I know many non-believers feel that the Big Bang and evolution have shaped life as we know it, but that God is not part of the equation. How do you think the Big Bang started? Where did the matter and energy come from to create life? Was it just here? And please avoid the 'where did God come from' answers. I would like scientific points of view.

Seriously now.

I believe religion and blind faith are stupidity - because it is a willful form of ignorance.

Many of the dogmas out there preach forgiveness and "turn the other cheek."

1) So do you forgive me for thinking you are stupid?

If YES GOTO 2 ELSE GOTO END

2) Cause if you do I think that is even more stupid. GOTO 3

3) Do you still forgive me?

If Yes GOTO 1 ELSE GOTO END

END - You are more rational than I thought.

Ok, To start with I am not religious and do not believe in God. However I am not against religion, I just feel it is a bit too mysterious for me to make a decision on.

My question - My fiancé is a Jehovah’s Witness - I was looking in one of her books with her the other day, and they had a timeline of relatives from Jesus, back to Adam. There were 76 generations - Assuming each generation lives to 50, and has their child at 35, this is a span of 2660 years. This added to our current year is 4667 years. Man was created on the 7th day, which means that Supposedly Earth was created 4667 years ago. Now I know this has some massive estimates in it's workings, and I don't believe this is in any way accurate - but even doubled, trebled, etc, How does it account for dinosaurs, the suns age. I can't believe that the earth is so young? how can this be?

I spent years a a religious man going to church on Sundays and praying to God, but still living life as a hypocrite. Then one day I encountered the Spirit of God and He shown me that day that there is a difference of being religious and knowing God. Do you know this?
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

If so, then explain your support for the money loving Republican Party.

I am not interested in snide remarks, I just want to know the truth. You call yourselves Christians, so here is your chance.

How many of you had never in your lifetime interacted with -- in any way -- an atheist prior to your participation on R&S?

For those that had not, did your opinion about them as people change in any way, or remain the same?

I'm okay with getting fresh viewpoints on things, but come on--some of them are asked 10 minutes apart!

Am I the only one who gets the "we found similar questions" pop-up when I start to type a question to ask?

..many of the miracles that the atheists etc..are looking for are kept in the prison by psichiatry although..even when a mad man said that he saw the devil..or an angel..it is a witness..

it is logical that in a word that says that all the phenomena are natural..and not made by God...demons or angels..when you see a miracle made by God or a demon..you could go crazy..

i don't mean to ruffle feathers with this one....but could someone please explain this to me....

what is more important? god's law or man's law? which gets priority? if our government goes to war, christians go kill people (there are no atheists in foxholes), right? god's law takes a backseat...which i can understand. but then, when people go to abort a fetus (which is legal), chrisitans go crazy.

huh? you can backtrack on your doctrine when the gov't says you can kill....but you won't backtrack on your doctrine when the gov't says you can kill?

one time you go against your faith and with the gov't. one time you stick with your faith and go against the gov't . so.....i'm completely confused. which is more important? gods law or man's law?

if its god's law, how is war justifiable? if its man's law, why do you get so flustered about abortion?

Quote of a fireman at scene of California Burning.

Could it apply to those still in legalistic churches,
if what the Spirit saith is "unto the churches", and
if Galatians only book written "unto the churches",
and the higher edification and exhortation is:
come out from among them, and
from such turn away?

See, you guys, they're not all meanies.

"I haven't known you that long... ok, so I really don't know you... but I already see qualities that make you special... you are beautiful - inside and out... intelligent...strong... passionate (at least on R&S)... and open minded. You are unique... perhaps the question you posted was a hypothetical, but in the hopes that it is real, wanted to give my 2 cents... After all, everyone is entitled to my opinion!"

Shelly O VT, thank you so much for this email. I was in a funk and you made me feel good again. :o)

to anyone who has been insulted by our faith

I apologize for any insult or wrong that any fellow Christian has done. what can I say? People are jerks, even those who believe in eternal life. Ghandi is quoted for saying that he likes the idea of Christ, but not Christians cause they dont act like Christ.
The term 'Christian' means Christ-follower but we dont live up to our name. It is true that actions speak louder than words, but in a forum like this, words are all we have... and the tone behind them.
Christians are supposed to be accepting and non judgmental. Models in the Bible are given of how we should hate sin but love the sinner.
I suppose the reason that we continue to type out heated replies might be out of frustration and un-righteous anger.
Yes, we believe that we are right about sin, heaven and hell and all that good stuff... but its no reason to get in anybody's face about it.

So im here to say a sincere sorry if we've been jerks.

I'm in the habit of saying, "God bless you" because I truly want people to be blessed of God. I've seen people express irritation on R&S with this concept; so what I want to know is this: Is it the "God" part that bothers you, or do you just not want to be blessed? Can I just say "Blessings" or "Bless ya good"? Or something else, as long as I leave God out of it?
