I didn't mean to imply that before I read this email I thought all Christians were awful, or something. It appears, however, that some of you seem to think so, so I wanted to show this to exhibit how nice some of them are.

Lucky....I've never gotten a "nice" email from a Christian. I get ones telling me that I'm ignorant, stupid, or that I'm going to hell.

Right on. When I read something like that, it reminds me that there are Christians out there who are genuinely good and kind people. Not all of them are the vitriolic narrow-minded little hate-mongers we see so often on R&S. Reading Rachel's postings reminds me of that too. It makes me aware that I need to be more conscious of avoiding generalizations so I can show proper respect to the people who practice Christianity as a healthy expression of spirituality rather than a vehicle for intolerence and condescention.

Thank you for sharing this - I think we forget sometimes that there are some great people on here that happen to be christians because we are so used to getting bombarded by the insane ones.

Yes, I would because a few of my friends are Christian and they are very nice and respect my beliefs, even if they conflict with there own.

I also have gotten loving, open, accepting messages from Christians here.
I just don't make them public because I won't do that without the writers' permission.
I did that a long time ago, and the person got hate mail from other "Christians" as a result.

Yes, I can. Not everyone of different belief is mean. I wish everyone could be that way. Allow each of us to believe as we do without verbal repercussion that is unnecessary and hurtful.
People are people and by nature can be mean and nasty, kind and loving, and/or somewhere in between or a combination of all four. That is before we bring religion or lack of religion into our daily chaos. We all need to accept ourselves as human before we can even juggle the topic of religion.
I see that the thumbs are turning down again...amazing.

Yes I do think that it was from an incredibly considerate and passionate person, It would be nice to get email like that all the time.

Your right, they are not all bad. This was a good way to make that clear. So many people on R&S share emails to turn people against a person. It's nice to see two people who are getting along well on here.

That was a very nice email. It upsets me when there are so many people that call themselves Christians, but do not live up to what they preach. I'm a Christian, and I try my best, but it does anger me when there are those that are judgemental, display hatred, name call, etc. That email was very nice, most definitely.
