Would you like to tell your story? My life has changed. I am talking, my whole attitude. I feel God at work in my life. Not that long ago I dwelled on the nagative, thought my dreams were out of reach, focused on the things that I did not have, thought I would be stuck in a rut forever. I took some very good advice to have faith in God and pray and ask God for a change. I have always had a relationship with God, but it was always where I would pray once in a while and usually only when things were bad. Now I pray just to thank God for all of my blessings. I look back and realize that he has given me so much. I have this peace that I have never felt before, like I am finally letting go and letting God. He is in control and I am okay with that. I was always trying to control my own destiny and I was getting nowhere. No wonder, my creater wanted things for me that were far better than what I ever thought I deserved or was capable of. I am very happy in my life.

In both instances, Mary appeared to the little innocent children and spread her messages to the world. The Miracles that occurred there were accepted later and sanctioned by the Catholic Church as divine revelation. What do you think?

I got handed an atheist Bible, "The God Delusion", and some tracks on how I "evolved" from pond scum, and when I die it's the end. They told me I was ignorant and doomed to live in my ignorance for all time. What nerve! What audacious nerve!
I swear, these people need back off and let others believe what they want!

While reading the answers to several questions here in R/S
I can't help but notice that Atheists leave the rudest/harshest answers. Why is that?

"Ever see a tornado assemble an airplane? Airplanes take intelligence to design and build. The universe, and our DNA is far more complex... must have required far more intelligence to make it all work as well as it does."
Why is this a common argument against evolution? Evolution is talking about thousands of years of adaptations and mutations. not some randomly thrown together product. Do people really buy into this junk that some being just threw everything together exactly how it is?

I was meditating on this saying of Jesus this morning:
"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men."
- Luke 6:32-36

And that got me to wondering - we all have people who are "enemies" - from strangers who are rude to us, or family members who hold a life-long grudge, friends that betray us etc.
Jesus says "even sinners love those who love them back" - so what does your religion or personal ethics system (if you are a non-Theist) say about how to deal with your enemies?

We agreed to my ultimatum last month that she needed to lose 8 pounds before I would take her out on a date again.

Every Monday morning we have a weigh in, and honestly I find myself praying that she has lost the weight.

I am a man of my word, so I will leave her if the weight stays on, but I really really like her and want to stay with her. Although she is an atheist and will eventually burn in hell forever, she is a very nice girl otherwise and is fun to be around. She sins by sleeping with me, but we are working on getting her act together.

Is it wrong for me to use prayer in such a personal way?

I went through that, a couple of times, during really bad times. and god never showed up. (of course)

Most atheists I know either started out in really staunch christian families and finally "saw the light" or just never did believe. Not many I've met will admit a crisis of non-faith, but then again, I haven't met that many.

As I was driving from Washington DC to Michigan this past weekend, I passed by a little town called Frostburg in Maryland. I saw something so odd, I couldn't believe I'd seen it, and had to Google it to see if I was crazy (Entirely possible, I'd had 4 energy drinks, LOTS of weird things were happening).

Someone has a sign that says "Noah's Ark being rebuilt HERE!" accompanied by a large frame, presumebly for the afformentioned ark.

A bit of research shows that the Pastor behind this has been "building" this since 1976 (even though the frame went up in 1999). Why can't he get with it? Is it too much to ask that with modern technology someone can build a boat in 31 years?

Thoughts? Visionary who just needs to "get a move on," or nut who's just plain lazy?

I have heard people say, I am having fun right now, I plan to make peace with God before I die. You don't know when you will die so why not now? What makes people wait?

You have pacified your conscience by saying that you would find peace with God one day . This is why you shouldn't wait any longer: If you have told one lie, you are a liar. If you have stolen anything (irrespective of value), you are a thief. If you have looked with lust, you have committed adultery in your heart. If you hate someone, you've committed murder in your heart. Your sin has angered God. The Bible teaches that you are His enemy. On Judgment Day, you will end up in Hell. But there's good news: "God commended His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Jesus Christ took your punishment, then He rose from the dead and defeated the grave. If you repent and trust Him, God will grant you everlasting life. Read your Bible daily and obey it. God will never let you down.
