OK OK... theres many people that use te religions to help! thats a good thing!! but CAN`T YOU DO THAT BY YOURSELF!!??
U DONT NEED TO GIVE MONEY TO YOUR CHURCH TO DO THING RIGHT!!

ANY person that want to be good, dont need anyone who tell them whats bad and whats good, we all know that. its your choice what to do in any situation that happends in life,
you can help somebody
you can love somebody
you can be anything you like and the best is that you can do it by yourself, believe in you to do things... dont stay waiting and praying to happend.

ITS IN YOUR HANDS, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

How does my religion keep me from living life? I own a business, am married, have three children, participate in different community clubs and events, exercise daily, etc. I have friends and family that I speak with and socialize with. How am I not living? I don't focus on the dead at all. Their time has passed and there is nothing that can be done for them now. I focus on life and the living and I am more in touch with me and who I am BECAUSE of my religious beliefs. So, your question really makes no sense to me. Is it because you think religious people don't have sex or can't have what the world considers to be fun? I can make love to my husband whenever I want (my children may hinder that, but my religion does not). I don't consider getting drunk, making a fool out of myself, and having a hang over the next day to be much fun (and yes, I have had plenty of experience in that department). I listen to music, watch television, talk on the phone...do you really think that religion keeps us from living life?!?

I wonder this same thing. And the thing I hate is that most religions will tell you how to live, what you can do or what you cant. About a month ago a Christan group came to campus (WVU) and protested abortion and help disgusting posters of dead babies that were about 4' by 6' big. they ruined or gameday because they did it right before a football game. Religion just makes me mad anymore. I mean there is no proof of "god", the "devil", this so called "heaven" and "hell". The bible seems like a book of fiction and nothing else to me. We are suppose to have freedom of religion but these religious groups push their beliefs on others and call us "sinners" if we don't follow there standards. I think this world would be better with out religion. Show me valid proof of any of the aforementioned and I MAY reconsider, but like I said- there is no proof.

If people really believe that a sub-microscopic "soul" will somehow survive the thousand of lightyear trip , then inflate to a full sized human again - - - to live in this beautiful "heaven".
That 's easy to sell . Forget common sense , logic , the impossibilities , the superstitions . Hey , imagine living is luxury forever . The good part is that when the telepreacher gets everybody's money on a promise of a front seat in heaven , nobody ever comes back and said they were cheated. That's the best racket that the world has ever known .

Good question.

The VAST majority of people are worshiping God clearly in a way that he disapproves of.

Instead of worshiping in truth they follow their own desires and teachings and water down the truth or totally misrepresent it altogether.

The Bible is clear about matters regarding topics like homosexuality , but what do some religions say , 'Ohh God loves ALLL people , so its OK to be gay.'

or , it is clear that God hates false worship and pagan practices , but what do religions say --'Ohh , the easter Bunny is so cute and father Christmas is nice too . it is GOOOOOD.'

Or again , perhaps well meaning people are trying to do what is right and follow what they are taught , but then they follow teachings like hellfire , the trinity or the immortality of the soul.

To ALL of these people , you are wasting your time.
It would be better for you to do as the question here asks ''common!!! START TO LIVE NOW!!'' - and just go have fun .

However if a person really wants to do what is right and worship God the way that HE accepts , then those ones can feel free to email me for further information on how to do so.

You're right man, life is short, very very short, compared to the hereafter. I don't believe that a religion is a religion until it tells how to live the life with other religious practices. My religion Islam, presents the correct way of life. My give the present life much importance. It says to enjoy this life but with a correct way which is not dangerous to you and to others. This is a scientific fact that there is a creator of this universe. But everyone sees it in a manner they like to. Ask your heart, it will surely give you a correct answer. Follow what you want, its your life, live it up. I don't want to disturb your belief but just telling you what I believe.

People should be allowed to live their lives without imposition by religion. The very notion of free will demands it.

Over all, religion has been the cause of more misery than happiness. When you study history you see where time and time again fundamentalists worked to impose their beliefs, which led to dire consequences / blood shed for the common man. If god(s) exist he/she/they are passive because they chose not to interact with us in any evidentiary way. Therefore, belief in the supernatural should be passive.

I agree with you. Religion is a bunch of b.s. that people have adopted to be true doctrines of historical figures of supposed importance.
I am a spiritual person, but religious not. Religion creates division and hate towards others who aren't of your belief system. Religion was made to keep us all separated and whomever made it up did a good job. You can't go to someone and try to wake them up to the truth because then you're labeled blasphemous. Most of the population has been brainwashed so..I can't fault them for drowning in ignorance.
But soon enough, I hope they all wake up and realize that..we can't reach our true potential with separation and hate. We all need to love and join together...de-label ourselves as Christian, Muslim, etc. and just live. The world would be a much happier place.

religion makes you feel like you belong to something bigger than yourself and its comforting to know that other people believe what you believe. It is quite a hindrance to living in the now however. you have no reason to pay attention to the present moment if youre all worried about hell and the fate of your eternal soul. religion is the antidote to the drive for personal exploration. one can explore themselves and be religious, but they are very seperate ideas. tradition and repetition are comforting to most.

i however am of the philosophy that you should BE HERE NOW and not worry about such things. my life is too short to follow someone elses rules and regulations

Well, a lot of people need to know someone or something is out there watching over them. it's comforting and it gives them something to live for. believing that the problems and hardships they go through in life will be rewarded gives them determination to get through it. people want to feel loved.

I totally agree. I think its such a waste of a persons life, especially those who "dedicate" themeselves to god like nuns and all. Geeze... go out, have fun, get laid, and live.
Its all bullshit anyway- just some story some random guy made up ages ago just to try and set morals for thier society. Why waste your time on it??
