I find that one must have the qualities of a psychopath or a hateful person to believe that someone deserves to burn for eternity for holding a different philosophical position on the existence of deities.

It's the implicit threat of violence that I oppose. Obviously hell does not exist. But some of the fundamentalists (including those of the Muslim faith) would like to make hell on earth for non-believers. I remember history, and hell was only one concept of religious violence.

it is not the idea of hell, it is the judgemental, patronising, arrogant, way you say tell us. What right do you have to judge us that way, I personally don't judge I try and teach!! Some Christians just take delight in damning us all, but they never think that they might be worshipping the wrong God???? thus you will all be going to hell.

Because, it means you believe I am deserving of eternal torment all just for NOT believing in your god. Why do you think when someone is mad at someone and they say "go to hell", its taken as an insult? Really now, this isn't rocket science.

Threats are threats, regardless if they can be followed threw or not. Threatening someone with hell is rather crude and laughable at the same time.

I think that would be apparent to the most casual observer. We don't share your belief so you tell us that we're going to suffer for it in the most horrible way possible. Both rude and petty come to mind.

Let's try this: You believe in a god, so therefore you are going to be worm food for eternity.

Edit:
It would be different if I asked you what my options were under your belief system.

It's pretentious and nasty. The idea that some (NOT ALL!) Christians rejoice at the thought of other people suffering is outrageously egotistical and sick.

It is very pretentious to make the assumption that you know what fate holds in store for another human being, regardless of the veracity of the concept of an afterlife or not.

Threatening someone is rude. The fact that it's an empty threat doesn't change that.

Dude - it's not the words, it's the INTENTION behind them.

Saying that to an atheist will still get you a sore face. You wouldn't really expect someone to do that to his mother, either, but impracticality won't ease your beating.

Do your Mullahs approve of your use of high technology?

I mean, being your religion so backward, I am surprised to see so many Muslims here....

And, really, I don't care about heavens or hells..
