the hindu temple in albany, ny was formed a few years ago. normally, different figures write letters congratulating the temple, even the president bill clinton wrote a letter. the christian leader of america at the time wrote a letter saying: look im going to be frank: you are all going to rot and are doomed.

christianity is so intolerant in this sense: if you are not in the religion, you are going to there hell. gandhi is rotting in christian hell as we speak.

Seems like these days we are to worried about being politically correct. I think that we need to be mmore worried about the lost souls that we encounter everyday. If we are so concerned about the feelings we may hurt or the toes we may step on then are we really doing as Christ has commanded us to do? So many have given their lives so that others might be saved - and here we are wanting people to like us. Afraid if they don't.

I would like to know what everyone thinks we have to do to attain salvation with God.

Do followers of Christ really explain themselves to be saved already or in receipt of their heavenly salvation in the present when Christians profess Jesus Christ to be the final judge of all who are saved?
Isn't is a sin of presumption to pronounce ones own final salvation before the final judgement of Christ? I think we should leave Jesus in our salvation equation what say you?

God COULD HAVE designed us with absolute, indisputable, unavoidable knowledge of his existence (don't argue that he already has since no such knowledge exists in my brain). Such knowledge wouldn't force us to love him or worship him and thus we wouldn't be "puppets" or "robots" or "slaves".

And God COULD HAVE decided to give each of us absolutely free will UNTIL we commit sins that may effect the salvation of others. For the "greater good" (i.e. for the sake of benefiting many other souls instead of our singular soul), God could limit our will in such a way that we were incapable (either temporarily or permanently, however God wanted to handle it) of commiting said sins, but otherwise free to be or do whatever else we liked.

I've asked about these two possibilities in other questions & haven't received what I consider satisfactory responses. Please don't explain to me what free will IS. That's not what I want to know. Please actually try to address the scenarios presented.

The apostle Paul said: "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:8).

Don't people know that the book of revelation was NOT the last book chronogically written in the bible? It simply happens to be placed last. Revelations 22:18 refers to the scrolls on which Revelations was written, not to the whole bible.

I have no problem with people not believing in the Book of Mormon, but you should at least have a valid argument.

I can certainly understand allowing anyone to join that wants to but...what about when they turn out to be total hypocrites? Even then I can understand trying to guide them onto the right path and giving them every benefit of the doubt,but...what about when they don't respond at all? I can understand not wanting to boot their hypocrite butt to the curb but...where do you draw the line? Or does anything go as long as you tithe? Do you offer them any alternatives or altematems? Or do you go merrily about your business and allow your church to be polluted in this way?

Could this be a way of saying Happy Birthday to a wonderful R&S contibutor? He helped me grow spiritually with a tap from that baby fist when I was having lack of trust in my fellow man. He told me if we are going to be afraid of every unfamiliar or contoversial person, the trolls win. He was right! HB, and thank you, Sips, for a reality check!

I've heard some people and churches put it in the "dabbling with the occult category" along with spells and ouija boards. What do they believe is dangerous about it?

Romans 22:5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

Grace is God’s giving us something we cannot earn or deserve. According to Romans 11:6, “work” of any kind destroys grace—the idea is that a worker earns payment, while the recipient of grace simply receives it, unearned. Since salvation is all of grace, it cannot be earned. Faith, therefore, is a non-work. Faith cannot truly be considered a “work,” or else it would destroy grace.

Jehovah's witnesses do you feel the Holy Spirit or the force of God and what does it feel like.

Do other Christian who are not Jehovah's Witnesses also think they have felf the force of God?

The reason I am seperate JW's from other Christians is because the only time I felf this force I was studying with the JW's. I had quit smoking and remember been tempted. I picked up a cigarette and just as I was to light it I spit it out and went to the bathroom to pray, I felt joy come over me like I never felt before.

I quit studying with JW's and never became a JW for personal reasons but always remember that feeling.

Anyway, How do you know it is a force of God and not just your body creating these feelings.

Thanks.

If a God existed and according to the bible he wants us to follow his rules, believe and worship and praise him wouldn't that make him a narcissist? Would you want to believe in a God like that? Isn't that what a dictator does, Hitler, Castro, Husein? I don't see the difference?
