the hindu temple in albany, ny was formed a few years ago. normally, different figures write letters congratulating the temple, even the president bill clinton wrote a letter. the christian leader of america at the time wrote a letter saying: look im going to be frank: you are all going to rot and are doomed.

christianity is so intolerant in this sense: if you are not in the religion, you are going to there hell. gandhi is rotting in christian hell as we speak.

Don't tarnish the whole faith because of the actions of Bigots.

The problem is that MANY of these Bigots have a honestly (if misguided) believe that they are duty bound to save others. They have a firm belief that they are doing the right thing and anyone challenging this view is the devil testing the strength of their own faith.

Shame others get in the firing line of their self expression of faith.

I agree with what Brian(CTR) said; because of different denominations (branches) within Christianity, there really is NO specific leader of Christianity. So I would be curious as to who actually made that statement.
As far as your specific question about Christians being fanatical, whats wrong with that? Id rather see a bunch of people who are excited about their faith than a bunch of people who dislike their faith and are bored with it. And that goes with any faith. Wouldnt you agree?
The reason for their wanting to help others convert to Christianity is this: Before Jesus left the earth, he gave his current disciples a great commission. A commission that was to last and be worked at until Jesus' second coming. And that commission is this: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20). Jesus also said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but through me." (John 14:6).

All religions try to collect members for power and money in the name of god.
The religions' fanaticism is to get more riches/money and power.
More the gullible innocents, more of the above.
Christianity is no different from other religions and other religions are no different from Christianity.
All religions are intolerant towards persons of other calling
some openly and some to varying degrees of subtle-ity.

Christians are intolerant fanatics? And Muslims aren't? What's so great about being a Hindu? In India, they drink rat pee so they can get closer to deification. They'd do that here in America, except we have laws about that so we don't get the plague again. Honestly, get over yourself. Why don't you just be glad that Hillary is going to get the Democratic nomination, and you can engage in open, corporate Clinton worship all over again?

I am curious as to the name of the "christian leader of america" to whom you refer. I am an American Christian, but my leader is Christ. I do rely on the leadership of my pastor, but I doubt that he wrote to the temple you mention. I am certain he would not write in order to warn of "rot and doom".

Their is no official Christian leader of America. I would say the Christian leader of the world is Christ and he has called Gordon B. Hinkley to represent him as president of Christ's restored church.
