Most times we do.
There are times we don't, but by and large even in restaurants or other relatives homes we (my family and I) say prayers before meals.
I think it is important not to make a show of the prayer but on the other hand there isn't a reason not to pray just because you are in public. The prayer is between God and you. And if you are a father providing a good example for your children becomes very important.

No I say prayers for all my meals of the day in the morning in a private place not in public.

Location doesn't matter. It can be said silently.
My kids always say it out loud though. They argue over who gets to say it...kind of couter-productive but oh well. They're boys, 9 and 7, so they'll figure it out eventually...

No, I say prayers throughout the day. Not just when I eat. I feel I should thank God for everything in life.

Yes. We don't care what people think. We are thankful for our food, and if we're eating out it's because we're traveling or celebrating something, so we like to thank God for that too and ask Him for His blessing on whatever we're doing after we eat.

Yes, it doesn't matter if it is at a public restaurant or not. If I'm by myself I just say the prayer silently.

Yes, sometimes with food in my mouth as I forget occasionally. Sometimes my wife prays and I listen.
