What with taxes being what they are, it seems like a huge amount of money to tithe on your gross pay, not the net after all those deductions.

My cousin is married to a man who says he is a Mormon, and she has to wear skirts, can't use birth control and can't use microwaves. My mother and I ran into some Mormon missionaries at our local BP and we asked about these things and they said that things like that are not required. Is he some weird fundamentalist freak or is he just ridiculously controlling?

Why is it that you cannot take personal responsibility for what you do and instead need a evil entity to blame your actions upon?

Satan is a cop out. Why cant you see this and own up to your own wrong doings?

It is clear from their own publications that they have changed their position:

"Question: The fact that our Lord received worship is claimed by some to be an evidence that while on earth he was God the Father disguised in a body of flesh and not really a man. Was he really worshiped, or is the translation faulty? Answer: Yes, we believe our Lord Jesus while on earth was really worshiped, and properly so . . . " (Zion’s Watch Tower, July 15, 1898, 216).

"Religious leaders of Christendom followed the same course. They replaced the name Jehovah with ‘God’ (‘Allah’ in Arabic) and ‘Lord.’ That contributed to the development of the false doctrine of the Trinity, which has no basis in the Holy Scriptures. Because of this, millions mistakenly worship Jesus and the holy spirit and consider them equal to God" (The Watchtower, November 1, 1993, 4).

How did this reversal happen over a time span of almost 100 years?

When it's illegal to preach the gospel?

Acts 12 (New King James Version)
New King James Version (NKJV)
Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.

Acts 12
Herod’s Violence to the Church
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. 4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.
Peter Freed from Prison

5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant[a] prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

Was this scripture meant to just apply for the Corinthians or should it apply to us today? Personally I think it just applies to them ,but wouldn't that also mean that the other stuff Paul wrote just applies to the people he wrote letters to? I am just wondering because people often use Paul's letters to condemn behaviors such as homosexuality.

I've tried for years to believe since I was little. So don't bother calling me "ignorant" or not trying hard enough because believe me I tried. I feel a lot better worshipping the Gods that I do now that actually answer to me. Anyway I've only told one and she doesn't care. And the rest I have to pretend to be Christian one of my friends when I told them said "You need Jesus and your going to hell you wicked witch." And she kept doing it. Now okay THAT hurt. So I haven't told anyone else. I pretend to be Christian when they have religious conversations. Should I just suck it up and tell the rest and just keep the friends that still stick by me?

In no way is this question meant as an attack on either religion - It's just really something that is important to me to learn. I understand how many of the similarities between the two religions can be explained away by the controversial notion that Wicca's beliefs and practices are derived from pre-Christian faiths, and Christianity adopted them. What I don't get is why Wiccans use certain obvious Christian concepts, such as the Archangels. Angels play no part in the Wiccan religion, yet these are called upon in relation to the elements, correct?? Could someone please explain? Thanks!

And what u do or believe? That kind of stuff. And thx, I would greatly appreciate it.

between the two groups in practice? Doesn't appear to be. Both groups feel they will go to a better place if they die in battle, so they feel free to kill without conscience. Christians have murdered as much or more than Muslims over the course of history, so are hardly in a position to be self-righteous.

Lioness in zoo kills man who invoked God

A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.

"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."

The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.

What are the requirements for getting married in the Catholic Church. If you can, please state your sources.

Also, is this statement true: marriage is a sacrament, and, for the sacrament to be properly received, the Catholic partner(s) in a marriage must be in good standing with the Church. This not only means normal Church attendance but also avoidance of scandal. So, for instance, a couple who are living together may not be allowed to get married in the Church until they have spent sufficient time living apart. (There are exceptions—for instance, if the priest is convinced that the couple is not engaged in immoral behavior but is living together out of economic necessity.) Likewise, a Catholic politician who supports policies condemned by the Church (such as the legalization of abortion) may be denied a sacramental marriage.

I saw that on a webpage and wanted to check its validity
