Acts 12
Herod’s Violence to the Church
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. 4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.
Peter Freed from Prison
5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant[a] prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

Apparently there are many working hard to see preaching of the gospel made Illegal in America as it is in other countries already. Calling it a hate message! Has anyone read the book "Piercing the Darkness" by Frank Peretti?

Shadow of Persecution Advancing
Toward U.S. Christians
Issue Date: May/June 2004
High profile news of persecution of Christians in Muslim countries may be masking a more subtle threat to the spread of the gospel in the free world. Laws are being put in place in Europe, Australia, Canada and now in America to criminalize witnessing or sharing Bible truths.
The laws are drafted to address "intolerance," "discrimination" and "harassment." Several years ago extra penalties were added to the standard penalties for murder and assault, if the crime was motivated by hatred for a protected class such as race, ethnicity, sex, and more recently, sexual "orientation."
Now, a new, most dangerous, dimension is being added. In Canada, England and Sweden, Christians are being prosecuted for "hate speech." They are being charged with "incitement" of hatred for preaching

Yes, i decided to die for Lord Jesus Christ, rather than to die in vain!
i really do not see why by just preaching the Gospel of Christ Jesus, it's illegal? So no sense at all!
I am further touch with your sensible thought! A very good thought and question!
But remember this; Lord Jesus said; John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
For even in practical way of life, what's wrong if you boldly proclaimed the Holy Name of the LORD? Does people be killed or die if the hear it? Or if you preach the Gospel of Christ? The Gosple of His birth, death, burial and resurrection.
Can it worsen our life here on earth? Or people making it an excuse not to believe, not to listen to God, not to worship the Mighty Creator God?
Or so that they can just be relieve from their convictions and just continue in sinning, by the pleasures that this world offers!
So, i do not understand this worldly system what they aft for.
But i agree with Lord Jesus Christ, the world hated Him so, if you do not want to be hated then do not proclaimed Lord Jesus Christ as the only way to eternal life, no other way! John 14:6.
Else, as you said, either the world will file a case against you (ACLU) if you keep proclaiming the Good News to eternal life! But; Lord Jesus said; Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
So, as long as you're sincerely do preach the truth, do not be afraid of such denial of the world! And work the work of the sake of Kingdom of God, Matthew 28:18-20.
As the world keep denying the self existed Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent God: the One and Only True Living God and Lord Jesus Christ. Then just keep praying that God's Kingdom may come and His Holy Will be done, and be prepared in th coming of the LORD. AMEN.

Preach, Preach, Preach and I shall not be afraid.
Peter's Miraculous Escape From Prison
Acts 12
5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
( This is why GOD'S word tells us to pray for one another.)
11 Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a doubt that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and from everything the Jewish people were anticipating."
(The persecuters will receive a far worse punishment than they will ever do to believers. So DO NOT LOSE FAITH.)
Matthew 13:38-42
The Parable of the Weeds Explained
36 Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."
37 He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, 39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
40 "As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
Matthew 13 48-50
The Parable of the Net
47 "Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. 49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I am a former Christian. I left the faith during a time when my faith was the strongest. I went from simply having knowledge and a learned belief to actually being a full time practioner. I was praying as often as I could. I was reading the bible all the time even though I had already read the whole thing at least 3 times. I was always talking to friends and strangers about Jesus. It was during this time that I realized all of the contradictions and lies in the bible. I prayed for answers but got nothing. I was so confused, lost, and hurt. It wasn't long before I came to face the brutal truth that I was believing and living a lie. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I had to because I am an intellectually honest person. I denied Christ and my salvation. I started my life over from scratch. It has been better and better. I now have inner peace. I now feel more love than I ever have before. I am not only a better person for myself but also to those around me. I say thank God for not being real.

When the Lord, called me to teach, that was something I did and do take seriously! I know that there are two deaths, the physical and the spiritual. Man can take away my life but, they cannot take my soul and cause me to suffer the second death! Only God, has control over the second death!
As a Christian, I will go where I am led, I will teach what I am told to teach and I will forever remember that I am HIS. Therefore, it is a win/win thing. If they took my physical life, it means the beginning of my spiritual life, for eternity.
God has made my purpose very clear. I will forever serve HIM, no matter the costs!

Instead of citing scripture, why don't you cite the proposed law? There have been rumors that some proposed bills have tried to "outlaw preaching the gospels," but that has all been dismissed as bunk. So either you're wrong, or you're referring to a proposal I'm unfamiliar with -- in which case, I'd like to know what it is.
*Edit* -- Could you be more specific, please? Can you give me the name of a case of a person that has been imprisoned on the grounds of proselytizing alone? Or an online posting of such legislation? I'm sure these materials must be available somewhere. I'm a little skeptical when, here in the US, the President can say we are a Christian nation with impunity.

We have had it easy in this country....there are brothers and sisters in Christ in other countries that have to go underground to preach the Word, and if caught, suffer for it....some die....we have been blessed beyond measure in the US...slowly but surely we are moving away from God...slowly but surely we are moving into an era where it will be hate speech to preach the Word of God....unless we have a revival in this country those days are counting down....and if I'm alive when it happens I hope and pray I have the courage to proclaim the Word of God till my last breath.....

I will follow the example of my Lord. I will speak if God says speak and I will remain silent if God says remain silent. Jesus did not always stand and deliver...He slipped away a few times and answered questions in many different ways...sometimes even refusing to answer.
We need to be careful not to speak to hear ourselves talk and/or to glorify ourselves. This is not the faith of Christ but the will of man. The strong willed make many mistakes and then call it "spiritual courage". We all need to listen for the small still voice of God and do what He wants in every situation.
I know people who couldn't keep their mouths silent if all the angels in heaven were sent by God Himself to demand that they restrain themselves. Learning when and how to speak will be of utmost importance should the day arrive that you describe.

I believe the Holy Spirit will ensure the Gospel is preached to all people, regardless of what method is used to do it. Also, I believe that before that day comes, I as well as millions of others who have been born again, will be with Jesus.

Jesus gave His life for us, so that we may live and have salvation. How can we do any less for Him.
We are to continue to speak the truth boldly, without fear or compromise, as we live the truth, and not to have fear about what they do to us No weapon formed against us will prosper. Whoever tries to hurt or silence us will recieve horrendous curse upon themslves. God will allow some ppl to die during this time, but they wont have pain, He will take them quickly and just let them go home then to stop their horror. But, we must stand for Christ, the way He stood for us, unto death. God said if you love me, obey me. That means obeying not just when its easy but when its very difficult.
Even with threats of death, we are to stand and obey God. The devil wants to drive us in fear to denounce Jesus. No true Christian will ever do that, only those that give Him lip service, saying they love Him, yet acting just like those who dont. It wont wash with God. He knows the heart....
Great question girl. Press on , God will bless you.
