trust them for what? For religious instruction, the priest of course...for babysitting, depends on which one has the most experience with kids. The percentage of perverts in the priesthood is no greater than the percentage in the general population so if that's what you're getting at, then either is a gamble.

In reality it's probably about the same overall as far as their odds of being abused. The difference being that when the Priest is found to be an abuser he has an entire organization ready to help cover up his misdeeds in order to protect the organization. Whereas the Atheist,or any other person not protected by the Catholic Church will normally end up in prison after being caught.

I would only trust my children to someone I knew, and knew well.

Therefore, I would trust my children to my mother-in-law (who is an atheist), over any Catholic priest (because I don't know any personally...unless Father K counts?).

However, if say, my uncle or a cousin was a Catholic priest, I'd have no qualms about trusting my children to them.

As an atheist I'd say I would be a pretty bad babysitter, because if little Timmy wanted to play in the street,oh well. Sqaushed flatter than a flitter. I don't hate children.I like them medium rare, with a little chianti. Better leave them with the priest.

hypothetical? meaning you're purely doing this to get reviews, not because your actual contained in the issue. nicely first of each and every of the position did i heaer that this catholic priest turned right into a phedophile? if it changed into from a relied on source like yet another be certain whom had actual had him as a babysitter, i could be more desirable persuaded adverse to him. notwithstanding if it turned right into a random individual i had by no skill met who hated his guts and could do something to damage his attractiveness and did not have children, i could likely not trust it. it also relies upon on who the athiest is. i understand a few athiests who're purely easily misled and by no skill bitter or cruel human beings, they purely were given their beliefs perplexed. say it changed into my chum who i knew continually and that i knew s/he wouldent ever do something in any respect to smash my toddler i could be more desirable persuaded for thme. If it changed into say some1 i dident understand in chains and black leather-depending with a harley who swore he dident rly kill his toddler brother, i could be persuaded - aw heck who am i kidding i wld by no skill leave my youngster wiff a freak like that. if both were the more serious selection, i could purely stay domicile. yet often i dont truly imagine faith has plenty to do with toddler care performance. i recommend, i agree that i wouldnt favor my six 365 days old youngster liek putting out with ozzy osbourn all day bt if hes purely an athiest and hes reeally a sturdy babysitter i dont thikn it can be a prob. plus at the same time as i seek for a sitter i dont ask what their faith is. now different such issues as sexual orientation or age or music record or references they're major because it may issue the safe practices of year toddler so i wager be counted idk i cant help yet weasel ok? lol

Which priest, which atheist? Do not pretend that atheists are better than priests they murder people and molest children. Like many humans! It depends on which one! Some priests certainly! Which ever it was I would prefer to know the person if I were to trust them to care for children.

"In the absence of Godliness, the Lord will use what ever is available, lol, sooooo the atheist, unless the atheist was part of an absurd group of people who attempted to impose celibacy on themselves, then neither, lol.
Catholicism is a far cry from pure Christianity (following Christ's teaching) and is more of a following of traditions of man. Man is supposed to have a sex partner, God created us that way. Anytime you follow man's attempts, you get corruption of God's perfect will and intent.

It would be best to trust an Atheist with a child than a priest

Trust him to do what? Neither of those Categories qualify someone to be "trusted" with my children. The only person I trust with my children is someone who is full of wisdom, integrity and love.

You are so lame with your questions. Don't you think that we live in a society where labelling is racism and discrimination?
