If you don't believe in God, then what is the likelihood that we were "accidentally" created over millions or billions of years? Does anyone else see how illogical this sounds?

Some would call the book of revelation the ravings of a madman. So would it be right to say that xtians suffer from 'shared psychosis'?

Also, some atheists say that religion is like believing in fairies or flying pigs. If one were to believe in such (uncommon) things then the men in white coats would not be far away. So, atheists do you believe that religion is (like?) an illness, and if so should it be treated?

You know, when there's an apparition of jesus on a wall, or Mary on a slice of toast?
How does anyone really know that's them? Have they seen them before?

How can anyone know what they looked like?

Ok... I'm an atheist... It seems allot of Christians claim that they don't hate, because it is un-Christian and then turn around and say hateful things about people who are different from them. And there are probably going to be allot of "Christians" who will post replies to this question with hateful derogatory terms.

How can you "love your neighbor" and then support killing him?

I am reading Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion and I am struggling to understand some things. I understand (or at least I think I do) what hes explaining about natural selection as evolution. What Im failing to understand is how this constitutes as no need for a god. To me, natural selection does not explain the origin of life, only how its evolved. Am I completely missing something, or do I need to just keep reading, (I havent finished the book yet).

From a web

Seems as though many people believe it would result in this, and more than a few movies hint at it.
If I create a clone of myself and then die, my frame of consciousness is extinguished, is it not? The other clone is another organism with a now unique brain, even though it may have identical memories, basic tendencies etc...

I suppose such a belief that it would result in immortality might come about from a belief in the soul, that might be transferred to the other body after death.
Any ideas?

--Snowflakes crystallizing in intricate shapes due to changes in temperature and position

--Iron filings arranging into formation as a result of the presence of a magnetic field

--Rock forming into hexagonal patterns because it is the most stable, repeatable geometric shape

Do these count as examples of order without design? If not, why not?

Well it does relate to my religion because so many times people use science to argue against GOD.

But other than that I asked the exact same question twice---once here in the religion section and once in the biology section. I only got two answers in the biology section and only one of them tried to answer the question. here, i always get lots of answers.

do you undestand why I ask here?
