You know, when there's an apparition of jesus on a wall, or Mary on a slice of toast?
How does anyone really know that's them? Have they seen them before?

How can anyone know what they looked like?

I saw one once in Mexico. The face of Jesus was supposedly appearing on the wall of a cafe under some whitewash. The local Church was there and getting ready to contact the Vatican.

Next thing I heard about it was that they found a poster of Willie Nelson on the wall that somebody had painted over. The paint was wearing off and Willie's bearded mug was showing through.

Thought that was funny. I never heard anything about it after that.

People see who and what they want to see. I've often wondered how anyone could tell that the images were of Jesus nor of His mother, Mary. After all, no photo was ever taken of them, who knows what his or her face looked like?

I've wondered the same thing myself. How do we know what Jesus looked like?

One of my girlfriends had a dream that Jesus appeared to her with a jerry curl and wearing bermuda shorts.

Well, we do have active imaginations. I see people in a lot of designs, I don't maintain they are apparitions. I say if it aids in faith, so be it. Who am I to stop their parade?
blessed be

They can't and they don't. People just believe what they want to believe.
