we only have a temporary purpose for being on the planet, then we're going to die and that's the end?

Don't you get sick of talking about God/Jesus all day on this site since you are so against Him?

It would be like me going to a homosexual site. I do not believe in their way of life and think their lifestyle is wrong (my personal opinion). Why would I want to spend all day talking about homosexuallity if I didn't believe in it?

Does anyone know what religion the Duggar family with 17 kids is? Do they go to church? If so what church? I looked them up and it says they are "quiverfull" which is not a religion, it is a religious belief about having as many kids as God has planned for your family. I was curious cause it seems no TV, NET, home school, girls no hair cuts and wear only dresses....hmmm?

Is it true that it is never too late to be forgiven or to decide to become religious? What is the difference between a person who leads a great life as a Christian and a person who leads a mediocre or bad life and then decides he wants to be forgiven and follow God?

I always thought pagan religion was gentle, sensitive and unthreatening and the followers were the same.
But recently I've come across some who try to express these qualities on the surface, but when backed into a corner in any situation, come out and react in a most aggressive way, totally uncharacteristic to the pagan way and shattering my view of them for good. I sense double standards and feel betrayed.
Why is this?

I do not believe that that these people are Christians.
I believe that they are atheists pretending to be Christians and acting the way they do to in order to stir up hatred towards real Christians
They don't fool me and they surly do not fool God

If a Mongolian is building a cart, he knows some math skills. Whether he labels the numbers "1" or "&," he still knows some math.

That same Mongolian may have never heard of Jesus or, more importantly, the mounds upon mounds of stories that surround him.

If knowledge is truly universal, why must one learn these through education versus contemplation? If one were to sit under a tree, like Buddha, and dissect everything that passes through their mind, they will arrive at the same spot.

However, Christianity, in particular, does not work this way. If you sat under a tree, you would never know that the Earth was formed by a God (leads to more questions). That human life started from 2 people. This would only lead to more questions if you truly dissect it.

My question is, how Universal is Christianity when it cannot be contemplated by an African and Australian producing the same results? Why would they be completely different?

No Bible quotes because that just proves my point

Shame everyone can't do the same.

What sets us atheists apart from the crowd (other religions that also do not believe in Christ)? It seems from many of your answers that what matters the most is that "you accept Jesus into your heart as your lord and savior." Well, do Hindus accept Jesus? No. Do Buddhists? Pretty sure they don't.

So what's up with all the questions regarding atheists and trying to challenge us? Is it our dashing good looks or something? lol

I am just wondering because I see a lot of questions like "Atheist do you or would you have a Christian friend?"
This leads me to believe that it is thought that every context of an atheist life is spent discussing religion and telling people how wrong they are. Is this what people really think?

If I strive to keep all the mitzvot, why doesn't G-d make my life better? Why do there have to be setbacks and problems?

The fellow over the road told me that until he was 30 he was very shy and had no girlfriends. Then he sold his soul to The Devil and from then on lived for 40 years a totally hedonistic life of wine, womem and song. Last week he has joined the Catholic Church, rejected Satan and all his works and expects to be welcomed in Heaven with rejoicing as a repentant sinner.

Ok riddle me this one. God has always been in exsistence and always will be. Well the Earth as we know it is about 3.8 to 3.9 billion years old, but scientist have found galaxys in outter space that are over 10 billion years old! Genises 1:1 says. "In the beggining God created the heavens and the Earth". But according to man those galaxys out there are billions of years older than the Earth is! What the heck does all of this mean? This is a good question isnt it. Well don't worry, I have plenty more where this one came from (me). I will keep you all updated on my theories, untill next time.

a) were all thumbs-up?
b) were all thumbs-down?

Please provide links, if possible. Just curious what kinds of things people can agree to disagree on - or not.

Also, there must be more than two answers to qualify. :D
