Sadly, many seem to have that impression. Along with all the bank robbing, murder and deviant sex we commit.

The atheists who post here do not give a fair picture of all atheists. Neither do the loud, best-selling atheist authors.
For example, recently some folks published a response to Dawkins's atheistic book "The God Delusion." On the cover of the book replying to Dawkins ("The Dawkins Delusion?") was this quotation:
"The God Delusion makes me embarrassed to be an atheist, and the McGraths show why."
—Michael Ruse, Lucyle T. Werkmeister Professor of Philosophy, and Director of the Program in the History and Philosophy of Science, Department of Philosophy, Florida State University
So I think it would be quite wrong to think that atheists in general are like the active, combative ones here. And I'm not even saying that all the ones posting here are "active, combative ones."

Actually we atheists take turns on the Yahoo answer site so that we all can get a break. Yes, it is a conspiracy and your sharp little mind has picked it right out.
Please don't tell god on us or we all go to h e l l. And being the good christian that I am sure you are, I know you would NEVER threaten anyone with h e l l and damnation simply because our views are different than yours? Would you?
Peace.
P. S. (Sorry, I saw an open door and I ran through it.) LOL
Peace.

People love putting words in the mouths of atheists.
We are cops, firemen, doctors, bricklayers, teachers and your neighbors.
We are more civically involved than most and usually don't mention we are atheist at city council meetings. What does questioning a budget have to do with faith? Nothing.
Most atheists you know live quietly and you don't know they are atheists, just good people.
I've said it over and over, my best friend is a raging Pentacostal. We get along fine, never discuss religion or atheism. We have lively, fun conversations about math, science and politics.
And most importantly, we respect each other.

As an Atheist I come here to debate and speak my opinion. Those who object that Atheists are here may not have heard something called Free Speech

So, I don't own my own business and work another part time job. Take care of my home and all other life necessities ..that's simply not true. Sorry discussing religion with you is pretty far down on my list of to-dos. I'm not here to mock but because I truly do find this topic fascination. Stop judging start living your life.

I often wonder what it is that draws so many Atheists into religion forums. Maybe they feel too insecure, so they come here to protest and try to explain why they think they are right and everybody else is wrong. -Sort of like the intolerant behavior that you would expect from religious people.

I'm an atheist. I have a job, I visit people in a nursing home, I take food to the park on Sundays for the homeless people there (with a group). And I babysit my grandson. I also have to eat and sleep.

Yikes! If your conclusions of the world are based on what you find on the internet and what you see on Yahoo! Answers you might be in poor shape. My recommendation is to promptly log off your computer and walk outside, meet some people, interact with the world.

I think they're doing the same thing you're doing, just in reverse, so to speak. Everyone has the right(s) to believe in whatever they want and Yahoo! Answers give them the same right to express and practice their religious belief as they give you and me.
