We can fool ourselves into believing worldly pleasures will satisfy. Instead, we run around seeking more and more pleasure on the physical plane. It is like a thirst that is never quenched.
Spiritual bliss, on the other hand, is like a cup that is never empty, no matter how much we drink from it.

I'd like to choose both. The Lord says u cant serve two masters. I'm not trying to. IT's the whole seek ye first thing. That's what I'm trying to do. LIve in the world, enjoy it's pleasures, but in the way the Lord wants me to. But I would say spiritual bliss. Because if ur happy..I mean, really, truly, happy. then it doesn't matter what kind of world u live in, u'll be blistful always. When u have worldly pleasures, u might not always be happy. U just think u are, or play a part. That's why the saying money can't buy happiness is so poinient.

Ofcourse Spiritual Bliss is the best. However even while knowing this there are the sankaras (habits) that we have aquired over a long time - those of taking pleasure from the wordly things. So these sanskaras manifest automatically now and therefore we need to pay attention to create the sanskaras of remaining in Spiritual Bliss. When these sanskaras become automatical then it would be said we have reached satopradhan stage. However the stage of us is - that way also the world will be. Whatever type of sanskaras we have - same sanskaras will be adopted by the matter.

Om Shanti.

Spiritual bliss contains the fulfillment of all longing, while worldly pleasure can only handle a few at a time at best.

Bliss with any unfulfilled desire is not bliss, nor freedom, but servitude to selfish impulse, and in the end is an endless chase of mirages.

Bhagwan aur mishthan dono chahiye. For complete happiness in life both pleasures are needed. If u do not have material prosperity in life then u r nowhere in the world. Even u will not be happy in a temple. But without God's association with u , u will be lonely in a crowd and will not enjoy ur prosperity. So One cannot be enjoyed without the other. U should have the ability to connect with cosmic powers at will and u cannot reach that level of Bhakti if ur basic needs of life (roti, kapda aur makan) r not fulfilled. So both worldly pleasures and spiritual bliss are needed for complete enjoyment of gift of life.

Both -- one is not exclusive of the other. Spiritual bliss can be the vehicle to bring worldly pleasures. There is nothing wrong with that.

What is, is. One of the most beautiful things about our physical reality is that we have the pleasure of indulging in both physical and spiritual joy!

Worldly pleasure? All for it. Spiritual bliss? Nothing spiritual exists.

I choose both. As they said, they are not necessarily things apart from each other. I am spirit seeking spiritual bliss or happiness, and I achieve that by praying, reading, searching, meditating, doing my best as individual and ultimately by answering questions here... lol. I also seek worldly pleasure, I NEED to find fulfillment (sexually speaking) with my husband, the pleasure of my kids' hugs and kisses, enjoy good food, enjoy my hobbies, laugh with my friends, have my hair cut, my nails done, my clothes clean and neat, MALL, MALL, MALL... I really don't think those things are and should be apart of me at all. I allow myself to find happiness in every avenue, with no guilt. I have to enjoy my life as much as I can. I believe God wants me to do that. Everything with balance is good for everyone. When we exaggerate or overdose one thing or the other, then we have a problem.

Peace!

The more we come nearer to truth the more we shall move away from worldly pleasures and more we shall experience spiritual bliss and we shall come to realize with more certainty that we are in a bodily exile and the very purpose of our existence is to come out of this exile forever. I have come to realize that I have to utilize my birth for my liberation or atleast come a step closer to liberation from this eternal cycle of birth-life-death-rebirth. I do not know how much would I succeed in my this birth but I am on the job.
