In the Bible, “soul” is translated from the Hebrew ne′phesh and the Greek psy·khe′. Bible usage shows the soul to be a person or an animal or the life that a person or an animal enjoys. To many persons, however, “soul” means the immaterial or spirit part of a human being that survives the death of the physical body. Others understand it to be the principle of life. But these latter views are not Bible teachings.
Gen. 2:7: “God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” (Notice that this does not say that man was given a soul but that he became a soul, a living person.)
Gen. 1:20, 21, 24, 25: “God went on to say: ‘Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls* . . . ’ And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the waters swarmed forth according to their kinds, and every winged flying creature according to its kind. . . . And God went on to say: ‘Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds . . . ’ And God proceeded to make the wild beast of the earth according to its kind and the domestic animal according to its kind and every moving animal of the ground according to its kind.” (*In Hebrew the word here is ne′phesh. Ro reads “soul.” Some translations use the rendering “creature[s].”)
Ezek. 18:4: “Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul* that is sinning—it itself will die.”

I believe that animals have as much of a soul as a person would; and animals also have some sort of afterlife. However, as I'm not sure about what happens to people after they die, so I am also not sure what happens to animals.

I don't think animals have souls. If i'm not mistaking the bible speaks that animals are for the purpose of food and entertainment to man. People get attached to animals and in grieving the death of their beloved animal tend to wish and hope that they will meet again. I think it is almost sad how people love and bond with animals more than their fellow mankind and all humanity. If animals do have souls than they would be open to choice, free will instead of primitive instincts of survival. If they had souls then we wouldn't be considered intelligent thinking as mankind. What would seperate us from beasts if they had souls? We would be equals. I do believe that animals experience loyalty, love and fear amongst other emotions but as far as they have souls NOOO. People just crave attachment to something to care about and be cared from.

The bible says God breathed into Adam and he became a living soul. While the word soul is not used for animals, we know that from Revelation 22:15 that dogs are not allowed in the Holy city. Christ shed his blood for mankind, so it would seem that does not include animals, so animals will not be resurrected. So their souls, if they have them, would stay in the grave.

I think everything alive has some sort of life spark, or soul if you prefer that word. I think when something living dies, it's life spark is recycled back into the larger one that exists on the Other Side, or whatever you choose to call it.

I do believe animals have souls and they are connected with all souls throughout universal energy. They go to the same place we go and return as a new incarnation as we all do.

Many believe no. I believe they have a soul, but their consciousness is limited. It may take an open consciousness to progress spiritually. So the animal level is where the unevolved live.

I don't know if animals go to heaven or not in my religion but I hope they do because I hope that's where my cat went to. Anyway, I doubt animals go to hell, they are too innocent.
