Does this also mean we existed before being born here? If life started after we were born on Earth then wouldn't that make life infinite instead of eternal? Something infinite has a beginning point whereas something eternal has no beginning or end.

i've noticed the niv is diffferen't.. i hear it isn't the word of God.. meaning scriptures are missing important parts, and such!!!!!!!
telling lies, i forgot what scripture that threw me off, meaning that didn't seem right.. when i read the niv and nkjv. their both way differen't.... i trust the nkjv. although i read from the new living translation (NLT) the bible i trust the most... :D

cause i can't deny that God did change me at the encounter i went with my church..... i'm pretty sure they used the niv.. don't know can't remember.. :(

Do you believe in Infant Baptism or Baptism when ready?

Christians are the only group that insists everyone else live by their beliefs?

Many Jewish people see it as against God to eat pork yet they have never attempted to mandate an anti pork ammendment to the constitution. They simply don't eat it.

Many other religions have laws that the people simply follow, realizing that not everyone believes as they do and accepting such dissent.

Why is it that Christians feel the need to force everyone to follow their faith whether they believe in it or not?

I know that there are lines in their Bible telling them to preach their gospel but did I miss the references to enacting laws forcing people to comply?

Atheists, you are a very logical people. I truly understand that. I always try to be logical too. You want things to make sense to you. You want things to be black and white, no inbetweens, because when it comes down to it, the answer is always right there and it is a logical one. My logic is different from yours. We can all agree on that. Because I do believe there is a God. And just for the sake of making my point I would like to tell you what He says.
God said in the book of Isaiah:
"Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
When we think of things we use human logic. But, God says His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Our logic is nothing to God. He is the one that created our brains and He knows what we are thinking. He knows our logic. That is why He made it a point to point out to us that His thoughts and ways are higher than ours.

Is it merely energy, like lightning, that Jehovah's Witnesses would have us believe? Or is it much more than that - God with us now, just as God was with us in human form when Jesus came to earth? What is your experience of the power of the Holy Spirit? How did it convict you of sin then point you to Christ? And was it merely a shock, like electricity, or does the Holy Spirit still work in your life today?

In a recent Channel 4 programme, 'The Enemies of Reason', (http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/E/enemies_of_reason/ ) Dawkins claimed that paganism and spirituality is in some ways as damaging as theism, because it encourages people to see the world in an unscientific way.

I know atheists and pagans are pretty close on R&S, and I quite like most of them, as they don't try to impose their beliefs on others. But does Dawkins have a point? your thoughts?

If anything I would say it gets much worse... one now is expected to ,"Act like an adult..." but what does that even mean? There are pressures within the church to tow the line even one there are times that you have a dfferent take on the scriptures being tossed about. Pressures within humanist circles to be touchy feely nice about everyones sensibilities when more often than not the harsh thing is what needs to heard the most.

Do you see peer pressure in your own life?

(PS I am kinda immune cause I am a troll in real life too, so... kind of an outside observation)

What I'm wondering about is this: In a religion based on love, why is so much of the terminology violent or gruesome?

"Covered with the blood of Christ"
"Slain in the spirit"
"Baptism by fire"

Your thoughts?

Could even God handle those kind of delays and cost overruns? And will Christians report this question in droves due to the implied Blasphemy against their Beloved Leader Bush?

I think I am. I'm starting to doubt it like I doubted Christianity. Should I just suck it up and be an athiest or still be a pagan? Most of the time I don't doubt it but when I hear some people talking about their belief in faeries or casting a spell it makes me wonder... What should I do?

So, there was a Baptist preacher, a Methodist minister, and a Catholic priest, all sitting together on an airplane.

A pretty stewardess ask them if any of them would like a drink.
The Methodist minister replied: "yes, I'll have a gin and tonic".

The Catholic priest replied: "yes, I'll have a bloody mary".

The Baptist preacher in a fit of rage said: "I would rather commit adultery, than take a drink!"

The Methodist minister spoke up: "You mean we have a choice?, I'm changing my order!"

ok, so I'm sure you've seen it on the news, or maybe gone out and brought it. I am of course talking about those new Jesus Dolls. and of course the other biblical characters. But this Jesus seems to be a new American Jesus, the last time i checked jesus didn't speak English, nor did he have an American Accent. but these dolls have it? why? it seems the creator has just molded jesus to his own vision.
