If anything I would say it gets much worse... one now is expected to ,"Act like an adult..." but what does that even mean? There are pressures within the church to tow the line even one there are times that you have a dfferent take on the scriptures being tossed about. Pressures within humanist circles to be touchy feely nice about everyones sensibilities when more often than not the harsh thing is what needs to heard the most.

Do you see peer pressure in your own life?

(PS I am kinda immune cause I am a troll in real life too, so... kind of an outside observation)

We get pressure everyday - whether from peers, our kids, our friends, etc. Most of it is benign.

As for true peer pressure - I refuse to submit to it. At my age (50+) I am who and what I am. I am happy at what I have accomplished and where I am at in life.

As for the "touchy feely" thing - never went for it and when I was in the military (24+ years) neither did they (thank God). If I screwed up (and I did) I knew about it. When I did good, I knew about it.

I raised my kids the same way - and, happy to say, they are doing pretty well.

Each person must be who they are. That does not mean that peer pressure won't happen. It just means that you have to take the good advice and jettison that bad advice.

Continued good fortune on being a troll. : )

I have always noticed that society tries to pressure you but claims it is against peer pressure. I'm a solid Christian, and, at least in my Church's Youth Group (I don't know about the adult congregation, but I will soon be confirmed, so I'm on my way to finding our), pressure seems to somewhat stop. There's a bit of pressure, but it isn't much, and I have confessed some of my most painful secrets to that group.

Well ask yourself this----Would you wear your pajamas to your job because its comfortable? Most likely not because the peers around you would pressure you into dressing like everyone else by looking at you like you were crazy or laughing or saying something.. It would be completely wrong to say peer pressure does not exist through your whole life.

Peer pressure does not cease as an adult. Our ability to handle it is what should change.

I got rid of this problem by refusing to recognize anyone as my peer. I wonder if that would make trying me by jury difficult?

I feel the pressure and it is terrible.
I agree with you, I wish I could be more of a troll myself. Can you help?

Because adults do not want to admit that psychologically they are still so juvenile as to allow others to control them.

Probably because you're better able to think logically....you've had more life experiences and have learned from them.
