1-8. Our use of money is a good test for the lordship of Christ. Use our resources wisely, money belongs to God not us. Money can be used for good and evil. Money has a lot of power, use it carefully. We must use are material goods in a way that fosters our faith.
9. We are to make good use of our money oppertunities. If we use our money to help those in need or to find Christ, then our earthly investments will bring eternal benefits.
10-11. Our integrity is often put on the line in money issues. God calls us to be honest even in the smallest details. Heaven's riches are more valuable then earthly wealth.
13. Money can easily take God's place in our life. It can become our master. Wealth promises pwer and control but cannot deliver. Money can be moade and lost overnight, but it cannot provide good health, happiness or eternal life.
I hope that this helps.Let me know if you need anything else, I will be more than happy to help.

The Parable of the Shrewd Manager
1Jesus told his disciples: "There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions. 2So he called him in and asked him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.'
3"The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I'm not strong enough to dig, and I'm ashamed to beg— 4I know what I'll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.'
5"So he called in each one of his master's debtors. He asked the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'
6" 'Eight hundred gallons[a] of olive oil,' he replied.
"The manager told him, 'Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred.'
7"Then he asked the second, 'And how much do you owe?'
" 'A thousand bushels[b] of wheat,' he replied.
"He told him, 'Take your bill and make it eight hundred.'
8"The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light. 9I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
10"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?
13"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

Ultimately, it refers to serving God and trying to live a worldly life. You can't do both. Either you will draw closer to God, and further away from the distractions of the world or, you will be more consumed by the world and let your relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, suffer.
Spiritually, we all serve someone. The only question is, "Is it God or the devil?"

It has to do with the activity of the shrewd manager. He without knowing it acted according to the will of God, and forgave people parts of their debt. That is what Jesus wants us to do, be loving and showing it, so that people will not hold others in debt, a type of act of forgiveness.
Money is something that people (myself included) act funny about. They tend to look for gain. But Jesus said use it to gain trust. He also said to lay up our treasures in heaven, for where our wealth is, there will our heart be also.
So the manager was still dishonest, but he did right by forgiving.

God is to be your main love. Money, stuff, things, possessions, addictions etc. can become idols of worship. You can't worship God and idols at the same time. God wants all of our attention. It is easy for us to get caught up in the things of this world. God wants us to set our sites on spiritual things.

You will either serve God or the devil, there is no other choice, no middle ground. You will either worship the one true God or you will worship a false God -which is equal to worshipping Satan, as far as the Bible is concerned. A false God can be money, idols, man etc.
