If one desires to be in Heaven when they die, are the not dependent on such a thing?

In other words, some people enjoy spending money because the happiness they get from it fulfills them. However, since one needs to continually shop, the happiness is dependent on spending.

As well, those who smoke cigarettes will find happiness with the relief it brings, however, they will need to keep smoking.

If one finds happiness in a motorcycle when riding, are they happy? What of when they are not riding, are they miserable?

If you rely on heaven for happiness and God for happiness, then are you really happy? Without God, without the idea of heaven, are you happy? Don't just say "of course" because I will not believe it. In order for one to truly say "yes" they must not cling to such beliefs, not "long" for such occurences to follow.

In order to be liberated, one must be free from all, including thoughts and ideas.

Are you happy/dependent clinging to heaven/god beliefs?

christian beliefs were taken from pagan beliefs in one form or another, even if christianity made its way by saying that anything pagan was heretical. They derived a lot of their holidays from pagan holidays etc...all you have to do is educate yourself the sources are limitless. Christianity was structured from paganism, the what to do' the what not to do's, some of the stories are similar and the christian holidays.

a form of worship and a form of not making the name of a useful object in vein and when using it and calling for it, not using the name of that object in God's kingdom in vein?

But this object has a purpose and it is good for that purpose, oft times better than any other object for it's suited purpose and so logically called upon by name, a god's name! A mini part of God!

When I call for that object, I pay homage, I do so reverently making sure I called for the right object to help me with my job!

I worship this object for it's intended purpose. And I think Jesus was alright too!

If I use the wrong name, requesting the use of this object, I would be taking that name, that common label for that object, in vein, and I could expect to not get the results I might be looking for, right?

So I worship that useful object properly and functionally, taking care of my duties at hand. And you? What do you do?

Ever since my little brother got out of prison my whole family has been targets--the cops make it incredibly clear that all the "special attention" we're getting right now is because of him--we're honest, law abiding people with no records of our own, and suddenly we've been getting pulled over twice a week so that they canm ask us what he's been up to, where he is, etc.--he's been working and sleeping and that's it--this is an impossible situation and I need to take some kind of action

I'm wondering because a lot suggest that hell exists and if you don't believe, that's where you are going.

Seems like using "fear" as a tactic for belief is very similar to a Government official stating that exact same thing to get people to do what he/she wants. This is a proven tactic. Just because it's within a religion doesn't make it any different.

It's quite proven that a state of "fear" leaves people desperate and willing to do anything to save themselves.

I'm wondering why fear is such a huge element of belief for some.

Can someone explain our state after we die? What I mean is, can someone provide the information on what happens when we pass away and wait for Jesus? I know that we sleep, but is there anything else that I should know?

Hi there. I have been having a really hard time since I broke up with my ex boyfriend. It was a mutual split at the time but now I wish it never happened. See, I am still in love with him and would like to get back together with him so badly, if it is God's will of course. I was wondering if anybody knows of a good Catholic novena that has credibility that I could pray for the intention of getting back together with him. Thank you so much for all your help.

If you were to die tonight, where would you wake up? Would you be with Jesus in Heaven, or would you lift up your eyes in Hell being tormented for all eternity?

There is only one way to escape Hell, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Accept Him as your Lord and Savior tonight before it's too late.

I know that the name "Jehovah" is inserted by translators in hundreds of verses...I do not know any places where Jesus used the name "Jehovah" in prayer. Help me out.

Insisting using the name Jehovah reveals me that Jehovah's Witnesses know God from the distance. You do not feel safe to call Him Father? Do you call your dad "dad" or by his first name?

I've always wondered this ever since I was little. I mean we know there was dinosaurs... we have proof. and dinosaurs couldn't have lived during the same time period as humans. were they in the garden of Eden as well as earth? i mean the garden of Eden was peaceful so they could have gotten along but the fossils are found on Earth. I know when God created them in 7 days they probably weren't seven days in our days but God's days. But in Job he describes this animal that he saw he describes everything except the head and the description fits a dinosaur so how...

This would essentially be a "drop dead" date for humanity.
There'd be no way science could prevent this, or even allow us to escape our demise. So what would you do? You would have a normal lifespan, and probably your children, but your grandchildren, and their children, would face an abrupt death.

As a theist, would you continue to teach them that god is loving and merciful, and that he just decided it was time to destroy the earth, but he wanted to let everyone watch over a century as doomsday inexorably approached?

if not you should because I have been happier and more welcomed in the church because I am surrounded by people I know that really love me and I know I will see in heaven when I die and I will be with the one true person ever alive that loves me enough to die on the cross for my sins so I may be in eternal life with him, his name is Jesus Christ, and I believe he is the best thing to ever happen on this earth
