I have read that the Mayans predict the apocolypse on December 21, 2012.

What exactly does The Bible say about this?

I am scared.

The bible says nobody will know when the Jesus will come again. If you combine that with His constant reminder that "The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand," and it makes sense to me that Jesus's coming will not be an all-at-once thing. Maybe it's already started.

I'm not a Christian, but as the Mayans were not Christians either, I don't see how Christians would be the authority on this subject. Nor am I.. but I'm going to answer anyway :)

There is a very interesting article here: http://www.viewzone.com/endtime.html

It is quite long, but very informative. Much of what is written in this article is based on science, but a great deal is also mere speculation and fear. Take what makes sense from it, as it is a good explanation of the Mayan calendar, solar cycles, gravity, and our position in the galaxy. Try to disregard the fear-mongering.

Will the world end? Probably not. If it does? Well, there's nothing we can do about it, can we, so why worry?

Some scholars of the Mayan calendar suggest that the Mayans did not predict the end of the world, but rather a new cycle. The end of one age and the beginning of another. Think of it as our calendar ending after 365 days, where as this Mayan calendar measured a much longer period of time. http://www.levity.com/eschaton/Why2012.html Do we worry that the world will end every December 31? No, nor should we worry that it will end on December 21, 2012.

Live ever day to the limit, Dont put off something you need to do today. Because this could be your last.
You could get run over by a car , have a heart attact. You could git struct by lightening. I could go on and on you get what I mean. The end of time could come any mimute,or second.
No one can see God,and no one knows when the end of time is coming.
There will be many come and tell you they are Jeasus, and say follow me, if you follow the blind you will all fall into the didtch together. That is just a saying that means dont follow the wrong people.
You should get with God now so you will be ready when he calls you. Ask forgiveness for all the bad things you have done, say I'm sorry.Treat everyone as you would like to be treater youre self.Dont lie ,steal, dont bear false witness against others. Give to the poor, help the old, and feed the children.
When Jesus come to your house be ready, you may not relize it is Jeasus, he may come looking like a poor old man, and ask for food. would you turn him away, if he ask for food. I wouldnt you never know it could be him. God works through us.
No one is perfect, just work at being better ever day. Ask for forgiveness, and say I'm sorry and it will finally become a part of you.
And there will be wars and rummers of wars until the end of time. Maybe that will happen when all nations become as one. There will be another world Heavon. Pray get with God. Do the things that youre heart tells you, and you are on your way.
Just my openion.

The Bible says nothing about it because the writers of the Bible didn't even know that the Mayans existed.

That said, 2012 is simply the year that the Mayan long count calendar resets. To think it means the end of the world is akin to saying that every December 31 is the end of the world.

This is a serious answer. Please do not be scared, and that for two reasons. First, Jesus said that you cannot know the day or hour of the end. He said that even He Himself, in His earthly incarnation did not know the day. And "you" would include the Mayans, no matter how wonderful their calendar was. So, I don't know when the end will be, but I know that it will NOT be December 21, 2012.

Second, because He has provided a way to be safe, regardless of what happens in the world. And that is through accepting the sacrifice of His shed blood on the cross. He died to take your place and mine, so that we would not suffer ultimate death. We will all die, but we will live with Him in heaven forever.

in the bible it says that Jesus will come at a time least expected l"like a thief in the night" and the world will end. key word: least expected. That date up there? one word: expected. Remember the story about the wedding: there were 10 bridesmaids. 5 foolish 5 wise. The wise brought extra oil and the foolish forgot so when the light burned out they had no oil so they went to get some more. When they came back. The doors were locked. We need to be prepared because the day He comes back is when we won't be expecting it. Nobody knows when He will come back. No one. There will be false prophets like the Mayans that will try to predict Jesus's homecoming. The Bible is our sword and we need to sharpen it so that it will not become blunt.

The bible says no man knows the day or the hour.
Matthew:25:13: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

There is a sequence of events that have to transpire before the official end, but Jesus will come back first and take his family home, this will be the end of the world as we know it right now...it is referred to as the age of grace. Then there will be 7 years of great tribulation, then 1000 years mellineal reign after that the great white thrown judgement then comes the end. BUT the main thing is that you know where you will spend eternity. Just accept Jesus as Lord confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and He will remove that fear too!!! The Mayans (arguably) did not even make this prophecy. It is ridiculous to believe that the end of the world could be calculated in some way.

The Bible does not say anything in particular about 2012.

Christians and countless other religions have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years. They have never had any proof other than a belief in the end and they have (apparently) never been right.

Jesus clearly taught that no man would know the day and hour of His return, not even the Son - but the Father only.

Any specific date predictions of the end times is not from God.

But yes - there is a huge prophecy crowd pinning all their hopes on 2012. And when 2013 comes, they will regroup and come up with another date.

Don´t worry, it won´t happen like that. The Bible says that Jesus must come first, before the end. And this is what Jesus said about his return:

Matthew 24:34-39

34I tell you the truth, this generation[a] will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The Day and Hour Unknown
36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[b] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away.

Well, like many have pointed out, there have been many dates predicted before now that were supposed to be the 'end of the world' and the world still hasn't ended.
I think though that the 'end of the world' may not be death or the destruction of the planet. What if the 'end of the world' is instead the end of things as we know it and the beginning of a 'new world' ? I'd like to believe that is what is coming, a 'new world' of peace and plenty.
