Where in the bible does it say that Sunday is the Sabbath? It says that you should worship on the seventh day.
Which is Saturday.

Some people say that God eliminated the Sabbath but no where in the Bible does it say that God eliminated the Sabbath.

Also, some people argue that Monday is the 1st day of the week so Sunday is the 7th day. But why would got confuse peolple... everyone in the world go by the same calendar and in the calendar it says that Sunday is the first day and Saturday is the 7th day.

Remeber the SEVENTH day and keep it holy?

cliff notes version:

1) possibility of no afterlife, thought out by insecure men.

2) focus too much on how to get to afterlife and stop living their current lives.

3) laws of living make it a reward system in order to get to the afterlife.

4) reward system is a humanly quality in trying to control people. e.g. a king would use a rewarding system to control its citizens.

5) things like reward system, stories of god having human qualities (such as taking sides on battle field, killing nonbelievers, offerings, trying to win people over to his side, testing trust, judgments), and changes added into the bible by the catholic church suggest the bible to be man-made not godly. if not totally questionable, at least it contains some tainted misinformation.

6) personifying death giving notion of afterlife. humans naturally seek meanings and purpose due to insecurities.

7) evil doings within the church. too often it's their will be done than god's will.

It's getting annoying to me that people always say "humans didn't evolve from monkeys!" as "proof" that evolution is BS. Well if you looked in a middle school science book you would find that it states that humans and others primates ultimately evolved from one species. It says that this one species branched off into several more species like orangutans, gorillas, and whatnot. One of those branched species branched into two more SEPERATE species: chimpanzees and humans. That's why some monkeys are similar to humans, while others are more different. Somebody said "If humans evolved from chimps, then why aren't chimps evolving into humans anymore?" Well this is why! Because the last species before humans either evolved into humans or chimps, and humans and chimps are now on their seperate ways. Stop saying that if given time some random gorilla will decide to evolve into a full blown human. I'm not forcing my beliefs, just stop saying such ridiculous things about the theory of evolution.

Seems that Rational thinking of a scientist or an atheist would be an admirable quality, especially with what we know about religion and it's dwindling likeliness.

Fact.....Jesus has no known writings...ever (although there are excerpts from the Bible where Jesus wrote as in John 8:6.) His execution was not recorded by Pontius Pilate (whom kept detailed records of such things.) Furthermore, noone that wrote the Bible had ever actually met Jesus...It is more possible that he is a mythological god like Zeus or Apollo, than even existing as a real person. So with this in mind why is it that our elected officials must be religious in some way or another? Wouldn't that just be asking for another uneducated fool with closed-minded Christian morals?

Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you have good people doing good things and bad people doing evil things. Only with it do you have good people do evil things.

So I guess you don't have to worry about the 4th commandment. You'll be dead long before then.

Jehovah's Witnesses only please. I previously posted a question in here about a scenario, and it has been brought to my attention that I might possibly be misunderstanding a particular subject... the subject of oral sex within a marriage. I've read several Watchtower articles on this subject and have continued to be unclear on this. So to be clear, I must ask... is oral sex an unacceptable practice within a christian marriage serving as Jehovah's Witnesses? Or... is it a private conscience matter? If a christian married couple choose to do this, are they committing ANY wrongdoing?

I have seen two people in my church do that. One of them was a church member who on the same service participated in communion. Why did I find this particular act of reading the newspaper disterbing? Is it worser than sending a text massage or talking to a friend during the sermon?

Righteousness Through Faith

21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

I just read a question about sex before mariage and there were like 20 answers that went like: "You've got to test drive the car before you buy."

Well, does this mean that if you had a partner that you loved deeply and you wanted to spend the rest of your life with her/him you would dump him/her if he/she were bad in bed?

Would'nt you try to fix it, to teach and learn in this area too out of deep love for your partner?

If the answer is "no", is the feeling in this case even "love"? Does love comes with the "you've got to be amazing in bed" condition or is love unconditional?

I can't and won't judge anyone on pre-marital sex, still the test drive metaphor just seems like something awful to me...

Ok, for starters, I am not a christian, but I do believe in God, and I know that he loves me!!!!!
The question is....OK When a christian makes one mistake or accidently curses, or I mean anything that would be considered
bad....why do non-believers, and even everyday people will take it to their advantage, and say ohhhhh "she calls herself a christian, but look at what she just said"!!!!!
No one is perfect except God!!!!!
That is why God is sooooooooooooo
good.....I mean he gives christians a chance to repent for their sins, because he is a forgiving God and He knows that we are only humans and that we are going to make mistakes!!!
I am sure that it doesn't bother those that are christian, because they know that they have God by their side!
Even people that are not christian, will always have God by their side!
Because God loves everyone, and he gives everyone a chance.....lots of chances!!!
Even though it may not bother the christians, I am just curious!

and i am for the most part (fasting, no water, no kind of sex during the day and more of the basics) however, i am not praying more often or reading the Koran. My question deals with this. If you were at a college, and they hosted a Ramadan dinner every night, would you be offended if I attended?
