I don't believe in that.
I think that you can listen to what you want to listen to, even if it does go against your faith, as long as you don't let it sink in and believe it yourself. Just because you're exposed to something doesn't mean that you're forced to do or say it.

No, my religion doesn't dictate anything about music, but I can use my own common sense as a Christian to know there are some things that it is not wise to listen to. Sometimes music can influence people and cause them to think in ways that they might not otherwise. And sometimes, this is in a negative or how should I say, un-Christlike manner. I speak firsthand, I have have a problem with this, I listen to some things that I probably shouldn't because they cause me to think and feel some things that are not in line with the person I want to be.

But to answer the question, no, my religion doesn't not actually set forth any musical guidelines. But that doesn't give me an excuse for ignoring common sense.

Even though I often do anyway. It's tough, I just love music so much!

Religion will try to tell you what you should and should not listen to but as to dictate the music you should listen to is up to the free will of the person. People should try to listen to any genre of music to see what is going on and keep up with the times and the types of lyrics being played before going into a discussion with their children or even each other as to what is harmful to them or not. Religion can tell or try to dictate what you can listen to but ultimately it is up to free will and with the hope of making the correct decision. Religion should be a guide to the person and not a merciless enforcer because freedom is important if one is to be a true follower of whatever religion that the believer espouses.

No, because I know that listening to music, watching movies, and reading books; are 'just forms of entertainment'. They can't harm a trusting "relationship", I have with the L-RD G-d (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

Not really, but it should. If you religion says to care for everyone, and you listen to songs about hating people that are different, then it'll put that idea in your head, and so influence how you feel about the matter.

Not exactly. It doesn't tell me no I can't listen to this or that, but because of my beliefs I CHOOSE not to listen to songs with cussing or demeaning messages.

I also choose to listen to more music about God or that relates to my religion and my feelings about God.

No, not my religion or church. The Holy Spirit that dwells in me will let me know what I should or should not listen to. My job is to be obedient. If it is a song that dishonors God, I won't listen to it.

The only religion I know that cannot listen to music, is Islam, but, of course, most Muslims don't follow it. They don't have to follow their religion, they took their shahadahs, that makes them immune.
