Which is Saturday.

Some people say that God eliminated the Sabbath but no where in the Bible does it say that God eliminated the Sabbath.

Also, some people argue that Monday is the 1st day of the week so Sunday is the 7th day. But why would got confuse peolple... everyone in the world go by the same calendar and in the calendar it says that Sunday is the first day and Saturday is the 7th day.

The Sabbath is sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.

But for Christians:

"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."
Colossians 2:16-17

The Gregorian calendar we use today wasn't even invented til 1582.

The Jews still observe the Sabbath on Saturday. It's the protestants who don't.

Religions change things for convenience.

Jesus wouldn't have been born in December because the shepards wouldn't have been tending flocks in the mountains in the winter. The bible we use today has books missing...guess some pope somewhere decided that we didn't need them. There are so many things that have been changed, for convenience sake or because some religious leader made a decision to do it a different way.
We have Episcopalians in the U.S. because Henry VIII wanted to divorce and it was against the religion so he created The Church of England.

There's so many things that are read into or left out of the Bible. Keep digging, you'll find more.

You're right - the Bible doesn't say that Saturday stopped being the Sabbath. In fact, Sabbath was created in heaven before sin! It existed before sin, so why would God eliminate it? Its an eternal standard, just like a 7-day week. Christ kept the Sabbath on earth as well.

The Catholic church did change the day and openly admits it. All the other Christian denominations still follow Sunday out of tradition rather than Biblical support.

There are Seventh-Day Baptists and Seventh-day Adventists who are Christian denominations who keep Saturday as the Sabbath.

Not Legalism but Christ

Colossians 2

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,

17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not[d] seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

also the following happened on Sunday:

The Resurrection..... notice it's called Resurrection Sunday.

in Acts the Bible tells us that the Apostles met the first day of the week "Sunday" as you have already identified.

Also the Church went from house to house partaking of communion on the first day of the week.

Sabbath or Sunday worship has been an issue since the Day of Pentecost. all of the first converts to Christianity were Jewish and there custom was Sabbath which is fine, but Sabbath or Sunday one is no holier than the other. just as circumcision is profits nothing versus uncircumcision.

hope this helps your understanding.

ok you do get the calender is man made. The Bibles say on the first day God did this, on the second He did that and so on and so until the 7th day when He rested.

Basically, people of various religions agreed what day is designated as the holy day of rest. On the Jewish calender its Saturday. On the Julian calendar its Sunday. The point for Christian and Jews is to rest for one day after 6 days of work. Really a day is a day, the name of the days the importance given to is human made!! THERE WAS NO CALENDAR AT THE TIME OF CREATION, silly woman.

The only problem with that is that the calendar has not been accurately kept so we don't know which day is really the anniversary of the "Seventh day" or Sabbath.

Of course, if you want to decide that a calendar created by people and based on the calculations and measurements of people is God's word and you MUST keep the Sabbath on the day people recognize as the seventh day you are welcome to place your faith in the words and ways of people.

I think I will keep the Sabbath every seventh day knowing that God does not need permission from people to decide which day the sabbath is.

But then, I don't put my faith in people.

Under the Law of Moses, the sabbath day is Saturday. Paul, the apostle, said when you were children, the Law was your schoolmaster, but since you believed (became adults) the Law is no longer your schoolmaster (graduation). Many churches cannot accept freedom from sin and the Law, but the Bible says, without the Law there is no sin. People are going about trying to establish their own righteousness by keeping Sunday holy as though they were under the Law. It simply does no good to try to establish righteousness because nobody is righteous. If someone could be, he would only be crucified like Jesus was.

The only righteousness is the gift of God's righteousness that Paul speaks of which comes with baptism into Christ's resurrection (and into his burial). He said, "I agree the Law is good, but how to do that is good, I don't know. The things I would do, I don't. The things I would not, that is what I do."

The US calendar is set up differently. The Spanish calendar is set up from Monday--Sunday. Their way is better, because Monday--Friday are the week, and Saturday and Sunday are the weekends. God's first day of creation was a Monday, so the seventh day was a Sunday. Remember, God didn't create everything in seven human days. He created them in seven godly days. They are totally different time spans. We are also supposed to keep Sunday the Sabbath, because that is the day Jesus rose again.

Sunday is not the Sabbath. I know this is an English-speaking forum, but remember - in almost every country where Christianity is the dominant faith, the word for "Saturday" is literally "Sabbath." It is only in English-speaking countries that a few folks get confused on this issue. In the ancient Church, folks met in synagogues on the Sabbath to celebrate Vespers at sundown, just as Catholics and Orthodox do today. Then they met in homes on Sunday to celebrate the Eucharist and the agape feast.

you are right the Seventh day of the week is Saturday, the Sabbath.no where does GOD change that.oddly enough the roman catholic church gets credit for that- by no ones authority but there own,by saying it was done to honor Christ resurrection, also only authorized by them.no scripture states this. at no time did Jesus disciples worship on Sunday instead of the true Sabbath,Saturday!history proves it.read the bible yourself and you will see.people have been blindly led around for years.GOD has said I AM THE LORD I CHANGE NOT ! THERE IS NO REASON TO BE DECEIVED.GOOD LUCK.
