Or was it a combination of factors. Having left, what did you do spiritually, did you join another church or did it put you off religion?

Not everyone has the available resources to Salvation. Should certain people get a free pass to heaven if they've never even heard of said religion?

beliefs/religions/lack thereof?

just because you believe in something (or nothing) doesn't make it true, but only true to you.

i think to only teach your children your personal belief system is in fact closing their minds to all of the other wonderful possibilities that exist

what do you think?

same-sex marriages, if there is a law against that then....?
ok i think that if there is a law against same-sex marriage, then there should also be legislature against adulteres! just like it's illegal to get married for someone of the same-sex, it should also be illegal to cheat. yes it is in the bible, but it should also be in state laws! since obviously there are mixting church and state, shouldnt they go all the way? since they are interfering into people's private lives, shouldnt they also interefer in that? where people are ACTUALLY geting hurt?

The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. - Exodus 14:8

Overprotective parents do their children a great injustice. The caterpillar that lies inside the cocoon will never become the beautiful butterfly if someone cuts open the cocoon prematurely. It is the struggle itself that allows the butterfly to emerge as a strong, new creature of nature.
God understands how necessary this process is.
. That is why we are allowed to experience difficult, often life-changing events. He even orchestrates them-all for our benefit. What the Israelites thought was a cruel joke when Pharaoh sent troops to pursue them after they had been freed and penned against the shore of the Red Sea became the stage for the most publicized miracle of all time-the parting of the Red Sea.

Man has free will, and God can not intervene with that, so, how is God this powerful being, when without our cooperation he has no power.

Religions rarely encourage their followers to think for themselves at all.

Do you like your name Christian? Just kidding. Last night I went into yahoo answers the religion section, and found a lot, and I mean a lot of Cristians patronizing and criticizing other religions.

Are there any christians out there who don't do that? Who respect other religions and can answer without writing Bible chapters all over yahoo answers?

If you're not one of these, please, please do not answer, do like Christ said, "don't do unto others what you don't want they do to you" (I don't know how it's written in the english translation, my main language is spanish, so I'm translating from spanish). So if you don't want other people crticizing you and your point of view, don't do it to me please. Thanks.

The way I believe is we are/live in Hell and have to earn our to Heaven. The reason for this is; they say Heaven is above and Hell is below. Yet they bury bodies 6' under ground. We live below Heaven and look at all the Hell we go through. I also believe if we pass before we have earned our way we are reborn, begin again. Do you understand what I believe and can you tell me what religion I am?

It says in 1Thessalonianians 5:11-12This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business, working with your hands, just as we commanded you before. As a result, people who are not Christians will respect the way you live and you will not need to depend on others to meet your financial needs.
So why do Christians still feel its their business to rebuke people for the way they live when clearly they are to lead by example?

Sure, he had a few good insights on the universe, but he was far from infallible. He believed in a static universe, something that we know today is incorrect. He was just a human being, after all, smarter than the average human being, but still just a human being. That's why it's so important that we separate personal opinion from empirical evidence, no matter whose opinion it is.

Just for the record, Einstein was a pantheist. But who cares?

Personal Saviour tends to alienate some people.
But Global Saviour tends to reconcile all people.

Jesus: Saviour of Israel (only), by "another law".
Christ: Saviour of the world, by grace void of law.
Ye are not under law(Jesus), but under grace(Christ).

Cast out the bondwoman AND HER SON: Galatians 4.
The woman: Mary
Her Son: Jesus

Jesus, from the cross, unto Mary: "Woman": John 19:26.
Look what your law did: "cursed every one": Galatians 3.
