Whats the reason why you chose that religion? For example, a reason could be that your family follows that religion so you did to.

The reason Im asking is because I have never studied any religion and my family doesn't believe in any religion and never forced me to do so. So I want to know your thoughts on this.

Any examples of love on R&S today?

So I've been extremely accurately caricaturated by Jack B! It might be the proudest day of my life (well, maybe not quite 'the' proudest).

Let me say how impressed I am that Jack B would 'cross the isle', to use a political phrase, and show such kindness to a believer!

((((Jack)))) - as long as you've put your clothes back on!

Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

(I know that someone asked similar question earlier, but I am looking for scriptural answers).

I work in a very high-stress environment and our company demads a lot from us. My co-worker and I were hired at this company and we work at one of the international branches. Anyway, admist of all the adjusting to a new country and starting fresh in the company -- my co-worker found out that she was pregnant. Despite her background from the Bible belt, she chose to have an abortion due to pressure from family and fear of bringing up a child in an environment she has no idea about. Now, she is going through a series of bad luck -- such as, nearly burning her apartment down (it wasn't even a fire -- just a burned mark from an unattended candle), falling down, etc. Well, I don't know how to console her and I would love all suggestions. She desperately wanted to keep the baby, but knew it just wasn't the right time. I'm not too sure how I would have handled it...but I would just love all advice on how to console my co-worker.

The swastika is an ancient religious symbol dating back 3000 years. Many historians believe it was initially a fire and sun symbol occurring in Asia and later among some Germanic tribes. Up until the 20th century, it evolved as a highly auspicious talisman, evoking thoughts of reverence, good fortune, and well being. In the Buddhist tradition of India, it is referred to as "The Seal on Buddha's Heart".

Will it ever escape its 20th century connotations again?

when, biblically speaking, they should be opposed to the pledge in any form?

Matt 5:34-37

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

After all, my car and this world share a lot in common: Things often break down, it is energy-inefficient, it often requires prayer to make it operate, has a ton of legacy parts that don't make much sense, and the system will eventually crash or die.

They both show evidence of being created/built by an unintelligent designer.

Why is it that if a criminal killed my child, I'd have to forgive him, yet God would send me to hell just for lying about the size of a fish I caught. Unless, of course, I accepted Jesus as my savior, because only a blood sacrifice would clear me in the eyes of a merciful and infinitly loving God.

That bumper sticker annoys me. It goes without saying that if I slammed my truck through the rear of their car, they would call the authorities to quickly mediate the matter.

Okay, because the courts have yet to define hate speech beyond the definition of porn ("I know it when I see it"), here is how wiki defines it:

In the United States, government is broadly forbidden by the First Amendment of the Constitution from restricting speech. Jurists generally understand this to mean that the government cannot regulate the content of speech, but that it can address the harmful effects of speech through laws such as those against defamation or incitement to riot.

So many people have referred me to the bible stating it is "truth."

Normally, hear say isn't the best evidence in court but when it comes to religion, it's 100% accurate.

When I discuss "why" on certain religious topics that often fail logic, I'm told to "believe" or that "I just need to believe," say, in Jesus.

Do the religious, or atheist, for that matter, as they often lack evidence themselves, understand the difference between "Belief" and actual "knowledge?" Why is it so many substitute belief for fact? Why do they not test these "beliefs" more objectively? Why is it ok to just settle on "belief" and act like it's truth?
