That's a good question..
Maybe we all have different meanings for our life, and the "meaning of life" is to discover our meaning of life? Lol. Hope that makes sense..

Why does it have to mean anything? Look at the rest of nature, it lies, it dies, no meaning - why should we be any different?
Are you sure that you should start with "What is..." instead of "Is there a meaning to life?"
Just because you think that there should be a meaning does not mean that there is one or that there needs to be one.

The meaning of life is self-evident: life is its own meaning. All you have to do is embrace the moment without any conditions or preconceptions, and the meaning becomes immediate.
"And the sound of the rain falling on the temple roof is alone all there is..."

There is no one answer. The meaning of life varies person to person. For some it might be to gain spirituality for others maybe humility, just to name a few examples.
There is also "the reason for our existance", "the purpose of our existance" & "the point of origin of living life".

The question you should focus on is, "What is the meaning of MY life?" What are you using your life for?

The meaning of life is to learn as much as you possibly can in the short time you have and instill as much positive light into all the situations you approach in life. Secure a job, gain a family and achieve all the goals you have in life.

It is a merely step in an eternal progression. It is a way for a spiritual selves to obtain a body and gain earthly experiences. Once we die our spirit leaves our body. We then can be reunited with our body again.
