I go to Haiti on mission trips once a year. The people there have nothing compared to what we are blessed with here in the united states. They are the most joyful, optomistic, friendly, loving, grateful people I have ever met. Their faith in God is absolutely unwaivering. I always leave there feeling so humbled that I would even consider feeling sorry for myself or complaining over stupid little things. I come home being totally humbled and thankful for the things we take for granted like running water, electricity, air conditioning, FOOD, money, clothes without holes, shoes, a spacious home etc. These people have what we don't have. Deep relationships, hope, joy, love, faith, peace etc. Sometimes I think they are richer than we are as we have a tendancy to put more importance on stuff than substance.

Yes. It matters to be humble, and know humility.

Sometimes I get caught up in life, and all the stress I go through..and I often forget about other things in life, bigger than me. Being wrong is right. At the same time, looking deep into myself, and knowing for real what I am here for, and why I do what I do.. keeps me humble. I am no better than the other person next to me. I know that.

Besides, thinking of a Higher Power always helps me stay humble. =)

Just knowing the life that God got me through makes me humble and to remember that we never know what any other given person is going through. Being humble keep sme grounded where I'm not too proud. Yes, it is very important that we be humble as Jesus was.

Loosing your "self" makes you humble. As long as there is a self - an ego - it can fake humility only. A truly humble person does not know or realize they are humble...it never occurs to them. Others may tell them that they are humble...and usually they will think "am I?"

Does it matter - that is a judgment which I leave to you.

I an humbled each time I think of the incredible sacrifice our soldiers are making in Iraq. I'm glad that Bush has agreed to send some home.

I certainly feel that a spirit of humility is a good thing to a point. Be humble, but don't be a door mat!

There have been times where something bad has happened to me and forced me to be humble. Now I just try to be. I don't know if it matters... I guess if it matters to you. I think generally a humble person is more trustworthy.

I think it is so important. I equate it with what Proverbs
talks about when it says that the fear of God is the
begining of wisdom and also with what Jesus said
about being child-like in order to enter the kingdom of
God. Ecc. tells us to number our days so that we
can obtain wisdom. There is also a scripture that says,
"humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will
lift you up" It is all important and wise.

Knowledge = Power (and a little knowledge can
make one too proud)
Wisdom = Perspective
Love = Purpose

Add:

Also, we should not be wise in our own eyes
because that is a lack of understanding (actually
it is a lack of wisdom)

We are all on a journey.

knowing that you aren't the only one in the uniniverse makes you humble, but acts of selflessness is a big bunch of humble pie.

yeah, it does matter... JESUS speaks a lot about being humble. to be humble means to know that you are no better than anyone else, for any reason. we were all created for a purpose. thats what make me humble... knowing that i am so small comparedto the rest of theworld.

Not being proud of being humble would make you humble in the truest sense.
