same-sex marriages, if there is a law against that then....?
ok i think that if there is a law against same-sex marriage, then there should also be legislature against adulteres! just like it's illegal to get married for someone of the same-sex, it should also be illegal to cheat. yes it is in the bible, but it should also be in state laws! since obviously there are mixting church and state, shouldnt they go all the way? since they are interfering into people's private lives, shouldnt they also interefer in that? where people are ACTUALLY geting hurt?

Most States (and most nations) have laws agains same-sex marriages. ALL states have laws against adultery.
The argument you use (if you can have adultery, you can have homosexuality) is the basis of many judgements. I present as the first link below the 14th circuit court of appeals argument as just one example.
But, as the argument goes, marriage isn't just a sexual act between two adults. Marriage is a life-long committment to a partner to "produce a family." A homosexual couple cannot "produce" a family (altough it could use artificial insemination, adoption, or other means to achieve a family.)
The real discussion comes down to acceptable community standards. It is legal for same-sex marriages in certain counties, and in two states (Vermont and California.) Adultery, however, is outlawed in both of those states--as it is in all states. The marriage covenant, and standard, is that there can be no "fooling around" basically.
Most (not all) but definitely MOST homosexuals are promiscous. (That is, they have many partners over their lifetime.)
Your real argument should be could a homosexual couple have a stable--non-cheating--relationship, and if they did so, should THAT relationship be afforded the same legal protection of a heterosexual, committed relationship?
At this point in our society, no county prosecutor in the entire United States (which are the people who actually determine which laws are enforced) are enforcing the "anti-adultery" law of their states, because the Supreme Court ruled in the 1980's that anything "between two consenting adults" is permissible (including sodomy.) The court case that determined that was the result of a single Texas arrest of two men who were in their own apartment, behind a closed door, engaging in sodomy (anal sex.) They were arrested, because they were caught "in the act." (The police had been called because the neighbors complained, and heard them.) Texas law (at the time) prohibited sodomy. On appeal, this went all the way to the US Supreme Court. It was at the Supreme Court that it was ruled that "consenting adults" could do anything they wanted in their own homes. (This was on a 5-4 decision.)
Since that time, no one has challenged the law in regards to "consenting adults."
But, the Supreme Court ruled also that this did not condone the relationships, nor did it authorize them, just that it concluded no one should be arrested for engaging in it.
Marriage is different. Marriage is a legally-binding contract. It specifies that both parties have certain rights with the other--both a right to have sex, and a right to not have sex. Marriage REQUIRES fidelity, and anyone who has a sexual relationship outside of marriage has broken the contract. This is why divorce is always granted against the charge of proven adultery. Adultery nullifies the marriage contract in all fifty states.
So, apparently you didn't know that ADULTERY (cheating against your spouse) IS illegal in all states. The penalty is that the offended partner can nullify the marriage contract (obtain a divorce.)
Adultery is a "breach of contract."
Homosexuality is ALLOWED in all fifty states. Homosexual UNIONS are allowed in two states, and several counties and cities. A homosexual "union" affords those bonded by it to take advantage of the partners health insurance, social security payments, etc.

There should also be laws:
Against eating shellfish.
Allowing the stoning of adulterers and disobedient children
Allowing slavery.
All of which are in the same area of the bible.
Also all non-Christian marriage ceremonies are null and void, because allegedly God says we can not worship any of the other gods.
What is more it should also be legal to discriminate against gay people. All those laws that make it illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation will have to get rewritten. As (I believe) will the Constitution.
If you don't want gay couples to get married in your church then don't let them. I would not expect a Christian church to perform a Hindu wedding, or even marry a couple of atheists.
But to say that the secular state can not perform a legal ceremony is discrimination against gay couples who lose the benefits and legal rights that their heterosexual neighbors have.

First, you're able to tell apart between criminal and ethical. The arguments against comparable intercourse marriages that are non secular based are ethical judgements, not criminal. yet marriage, by capacity of regulation, is a settlement between a guy and a woman, that's the way it incredibly is worded in todays rules. yet it incredibly is a criminal settlement. And contracts have not have been given something to do with morality. See the adaptation? Now, in the event that they'd get the criminal definition of marriage to alter to a minimum of a few thing like, " it incredibly is a settlement between 2 human beings" or some thing alongside those lines, it would then be criminal. perhaps not ethical by way of fact the non secular are nevertheless going to be using the bible or another non criminal reasoning. yet there's a great distinction between criminal and ethical. yet you're interior the incredible area using the form, perhaps not the 1st modification and the liberty of religion. yet we've the incredible to "existence, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." or All adult men are created equivalent," some thing like that is extra appropriate than the 1st modification.

actually
you're missing the point
they shouldn't "go all the way"
they should allow same sex marriage,
you know...considering we AREN'T a theocracy in the first place!
Bible doesn't dictate law and neither should the fact that someone's feelings might get hurt. Sure, cheating is a crappy thing to do, I would never do it and i wouldn't put up with someone who did it to me, but that's not the place of our government to punish.

It is illegal to cheat. In so doing you are in violation of a marriage contract. Many divorces are granted due to a spouses inability to be faithful.

Actually forbidding same sex marriage isn't just mixing the church and state it is also bringing BIOLOGY into our government.
See homosexuality is not only Biblicaly wrong but it is also BIOLOGICALLY WRONG. Seeing how the reason we have two genders is for procreation and same sexes can't procreate.
