I've been reading some answers suggesting that scientists have made up such a theory in order to somehow disprove the existence of God !

Now I have a simple question for you : How could this theory prove or disprove the existence of God ?

How could we still continue to ignore the scientific proofs and refuse to look through this awe-inspiring window that the natural sciences has opened for us on the reality of the nature and the Universe ?

Don't you find the naturalistic explanations about the begining of life, which involve the formation of complex organisms from incredibly simple principles, to be far more beautiful and amazing than the simplistic hypothesis of a instantanous creation ?

You as a believer, do you really prefer to imagine a personal God so clumsy that he would have to intervene contantly and personally in order to adjust every detail of his creation ? Wouldn't such a God seem to you as rather weak and unimpressive ?

Thanks for your intelligent answers !

And before you start, I have dug through every trace of "evidence" that the creationists have ever come up with. I've researched their sites, gone to their discussion groups, etc. I've done everything possible to look at their view with an open mind, getting all the facts before deciding that its the biggest load of crap I've ever heard of.

I'll tell you why the Iraq war is a no win situation?

Other countries are waiting for the Iraq war to die down (the complete killing will never stop) & then they are coming guns blazing. I'm talking in particular about China & Russia. (Especially China)

Other countries ain't letting Usa take oil without sharing. The Us government have created a monster. U heard it hear, ladies & gentlemen.

No sources needed, my conclusions are beyond that.

THIS IS HERE COS EVERYONE VISITS THE R&S SECTION!

How is it that Catholic Priests, men, have authority to absolve people of their sin when presumably that is something for God to deal with? Priests hear confessions and absolve/forgive sins in the name of God?

Is that blasphemous?

Does any man have the authority to speak in God's name?

Does the Bible specifically give specifically appointed men this authority - to absolve in God's name?

Also, how can people seemingly accept this absolving of their sins from an organisation which historically has acted in a very unchristian way. When a priest is found guilty of something, ie child abuse, how does that affect the people who have confessed to that priest and received his supposed authority?

(Deu 13:1-3 KJV) "If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, {2} And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; {3} Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul."

This is the Old Testament which does not subscribe to the Trinity concept.

...then how come he created Satan? I know originally that Satan was an angel who betrayed God (or something along those lines, I really need to re-read it), but still he would have had to create him as an angel too. I don't want to hear that he originally created Satan with a good intention, either, because there was something that turned him 'bad'.

This is where my beliefs come in to play - of duality, and balance - because I can't understand how God could create a being who would end up damning all of humankind through temptation.
